On September 20th, 2025, the Oyomappers Team had an amazing time participating in a map and clean-up event sponsored by the Humanitarian Open Street Map Team (Hot). We used Chatmap to help us with the exercise, and it was truly impactful!

During the cleanup at Ajegunle Market in Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria, the atmosphere was filled with joy. The community was so grateful, and we felt their warmth as they expressed their appreciation and prayed for us. It was a wonderful experience to be part of something so positive!

The State of the Map Nigeria Conference was indeed a unique one. Packed with a lot of excitement. When I said it was fun I really mean it. All the guest speakers both online and in person did very well and I personally learnt a lot from the conference. The conference was held from 8th to 11st of October 2024.

Had a meeting on how to get members to join the OSMF. Strategy plans were out on how to achieve that.

We had a meeting with Arnalie on the membership drive in OSMF.

At the 44th International Conference and AGM, I headed the Rapporteur of the academic section. It was inspired and educative.

SotM Nigeria 2023 ended well to God be the glory. There was a lot of inspiration I got from the conference. I met with new people and the like. During the conference, we the females use it as an avenue to celebrate International Girl’s Child Day. Where I presented a talk on “how to use technology to fight against genital female mutilation”. I liked and explained how to leverage the technology such as 1. Information and Education, 2. Online support and counseling, 3. Create a chatbot, 4. Develop a mobile app that can help in data collection. In the cause of this, a call was put through to a lady who shared her experience at the age of 21, with 7 months pregnancy, her father took her to where she was mutilated. On the 6th of September 2023, we the members of the committee had a review on the volume of applications submitted by the applicants for SotM Africa which is slated to be held in Cameroun this year 2923. Letters were sent to the applicants whose application was not successful.

On the 8th, we concluded were 15 of the applicants made it to the top. Letters will be sent to them by the 9th of September, 2023.

On the 9th of August 2023, I participated in the State of the Map Africa scholarship committee in reviewing the application submitted by members of OSM Africa for sponsorship to this year conference that to be held in Cameroun.

I participated in the coordination of the conference state of The Map Nigeria in preparation for the Conference

On the 6th - 7th of July, I and my team members were at Ayete and its environs in Ibarakpa North of Oyo state Nigeria to collect data on safe places for female genital mutilation.

On the 1st of June, 2023, I trained about 15 newbies who just joined our local chapter on how to map using the iD editor in osm.

2nd of June, we held a coordination meeting for SOTM Nigeria.

We had a meeting with Mr. Victor Sunday. On the establishment of mapathon centres.

It was a privilege to be one of the Panelists of the IWD hosted by the HOT, North and West Africa Hub. Theme: “Safe Spaces for Women”. It was insightful. English and French were used as a mode of communication and I like that. Teg-Wende and Carter agreed that the submission is being taken note of and that women and girls will be given more attention.

We at Unique mappers network Nigeria had Inaugural SoTM Nigeria slated for 1-2 December 2022. It was a lot of fun. We had international grantees from Zimbabwe and Tanzania. We had about 90 participants online. Thanks to HOT unsummit who made the Inaugural SoTM Nigeria unique.

We the Unique Mappers Network Coordinators had a meeting, planning for our monthly marathon. During the meeting, different task was assigned to the Coordinators for the training of the members of the network.

28th May, 2022. I trained the beginner’s mappers on how to use create an account in osm, and map using the iD editor tools and the RapiD. The participants were so excited and grateful for the training. Some catch up very fast and some demanded for the manual/slides so they can practice it.

I nominated the new voting members about 49 of them to become HOT voting members.

I supported my Chapter members with internet data subscription through the help of Mr. Victor Sunday.

I am a co-founder of Oyomappersteam of Uniquemappers network Nigeria. I have trained participants on Missing Map and how to use id editor to map in Open Street Map.

I was involved in mobilisation and signing up new members to OSM and participated in a mapathon titled “#mapmyvillage”.
