College Point Boulevard closure

The actual changeset for the road closure details is here: changeset/53424372

I was aligning the road to the imagery in this particular changeset. Had a minor snafu with the upload.

Hi Akash,
I noticed you have added Kolar place label, in Kannada, over water, when there is already a place label for Kolar present on OSM with the kannada translation already added: node/245618507/history. If you want to add the Kannada translations for an place, you can update the same node with name:kn tag, instead of creating a duplicate place label. I am going to delete the duplicate. Please be careful while adding/editing data and make sure you are not adding any duplicates.
Thank you,
Poornima

Hi Elvind,
I know that I have changed parts of the official import for coastlines. But not having that part as a riverbank is breaking OpenStreetMap itself. It's rendering water as land. I have not done any changes to the actual coastline. Unless the coastline doesnt break the river relation and render it as land, you can change my edits back to being coastline. Thanks!

Alright, sounds good. Thanks again

Right. Would having that entire stretch of coastline in a relation solved the problem? Because, as far as I know, why this river looks like the way it does now was because the coastline was not in a relation connected to the end part of the river. The river continued until the end, according to one local mapper, and it was rendering completely until sometime in end May or June beginning, when the render broke. So I would say the actual issue was adding the coastline and not linking it to the river. So if the coastline would have been put in a relation, would the problem be solved?

Hi EivindWAA_import,
First of all, apologies that I didnt comment on your changeset before I made the repairs. I have not done any major changes to the actual coastline but just changed the tags of the upper part to riverbank, because not having the coastline made it break on osm and make the river mandalseva appear as a thin line. This was the reason why this edit was changed. I agree the import mentioned may the coastline extended but not having that in a relation caused that entire zone to appear as land with a thin stream of river flowing. If any issues, please let me know.
Thanks

Oh okay. Got it. Thanks! But changing it to a riverbank makes sense right?

Hi Hjart,
Thank you for fixing this relation. My bad, I should have commented on the changeset before I started repairing the riverbank. Can I please no what exactly was the error here? I changed only the part until the river ends to a river bank so it doesnt break the render on OSM as well as Mapbox. Just wanted to know what mistake I did so it wont be repeated again. Though I will make sure to not forgetting to comment on the changeset before the editing. Thanks again.

Hi Aquger,
Can you please confirm why the building on the right side of the school was deleted? it is seen in all the imageries.

Hi Labudda,
I came across your edits and noticed you deleted a couple of amenities. Is there any reason why these were deleted? The changeset comment doesn't mention anything clearly. Can you please mention why these were deleted?
Thanks,
Poornima

Hi fattter,
I came across your edits and noticed you added a patio space as a park. Few things, there are tags for patio, private gardens in OSM, also you can tag that as a garden. Parks are tagged for slightly bigger, public spaces. Also, parks are added as a polygon and not a node. I am deleting the stray node. If you need to add the garden or a patio, please add it using appropriate tags. Thanks!

Hi SAIDerbent,
I came across your edits and noticed you changed the tag of a beach to park. Can you please confirm this change or revert it back to being the beach because that area doesn't look like a park. Please dont add wrong data to the map. Thanks!

Hi robg37,
I came across your edits and noticed you have added some random parks and peaks in the middle of a residential layout. Now I know these are test fixtures but mapping random nonsensical edits on OSM is not appreciated. If you need to do some test fixtures, use the osm dev server. Please dont make bad edits on OSM. Thanks.
I'm deleting these changes.

Hi Jalil,
I came across your edits and noticed you added a waterfall in the middle of street. Please note waterfall tags are only used for actual natural waterfalls, which are usually not found in the middle of a street. I am deleting the point added. If it was a fountain, please do add the point using appropriate tags

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. This particular way (way/495506013/history#map=19/19.51587/-99.26535) is not connected to the primary road Avenida Lomas Verdes. It shows a segment has been deleted. I was asking why that segment was deleted and why a new road was added instead of that.

Hi,
I came across your edits and noticed you have deleted a section of major primary road and re added a new road which is not connected to any highway. May I ask the reason for this change. Also, please refrain from deleting old features without any solid reason and make sure your edits do not break anything. Could you please revert this changeset to what it was before? Thanks!
