Each step has tactile paving on top of it. There's no indication that you've reached the bottom, other than the lack of continued tactile paving. The paving at the top of each step (including at the top of the stairs) seems dangerously close to the edge of the step in terms of providing warning — I assume that by the time someone noticed it was there, they would be about to go down. This is consistent for many of the stairways I have seen on the UW campus.
