Hi there,
Thanks for your mapping contributions!
I just noticed that you (probably accidentally) deleted a bunch of paths and relations, including the paths on the north side of Springfield Road between Dorking Road and Middleborough Road. I've gone ahead and added them in again - just a heads up to carefully check your changes in the future.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thanks,

The path on the west side of Hoddle Street is a shared path. Have changed back and messaged user.

Hello! Thanks for contribution to OpenStreetMap. Could I please ask the source of these local cycling routes? Are these designated routes or otherwise any physical infrastructure to indicate their presence? You can see this for more information: osm.wiki/Good_practice

Thanks!

Thanks for tagging me in the other comments. My knowledge of this path is the same as Cam-I-Am and I also support reverting the deletion.

Hey mate, thanks for all your work mapping pedestrian and cycling infrastructure around Melbourne!
Just a note that these footpaths on Canterbury Road aren't designated for cycling. Let me know if you'd like to discuss :)

Hey Tomaussie_17,
That makes sense to me! Honestly I don't think I altered the name of the waterway, from memory I just extended it a bit. Happy to remove the name, I've had a quick look on Vicnames and nothing is showing up there- that's the authoritative source as far as I know.
Thanks!

Ok thanks for clarifying :)

Hi @cs09736, I just noticed that the construction status was removed. I would argue that it should be retained until it is open for passenger service as it is not yet fully completed. Thanks!

Hi there, thanks for your edits! Just to clarify that the path in Eva Tilley Reserve does not connect through westwards as there is a fence and a locked gate in the way. I've since fixed it but just so you're aware. Thanks :)

Hi Kieran, thanks very much for your edits! Just a note that I've removed Carnbourne East and Clyde North railway stations as there isn't any active plan to construct these stations. As per the OSM Wiki under 'Key:proposed': "Objects without clear evidence that there is some real active plan to construct it should be removed from data."
Hopefully in the future this changes, but for now they're best left off the map.
Thanks!

Hi thanks for these edits :) Just to clarify that these and similar footpaths tagged as bicycle=yes should not be tagged in this way. They're standard footpaths where bicycles are not permitted to ride as per Victorian Road Rules. I understand that there technically isn't a 'shared path end' sign, but as there is a road between the Gardiners Creek Trail and these paths, that doesn't require such a sign to exist.

Hi! Me again, same question as before - what's the rationale/source for changing this road from secondary to primary?

Hi! Thanks for your edit. Just wondering what your rationale/source is for changing the road classification from secondary to primary?

Hi!

You're absolutely right, it should be surface=cobblestone. Not sure why I tagged it was surface=cobbled.

Thanks

Hi Warin61, thanks for letting me know! I do miss some of them sometimes as you can see but I will pay more careful attention in the future.

Hi Ed! Hope you're doing well. Just on tagging the cycle lanes as a separate way, I note on the tagging guidelines and general practice in Melbourne is to add tags to the roadway rather than as a separate highway=cycleway: osm.wiki/Bicycle#Cycle_lanes_in_bidirectional_motor_car_roads Are you ok if we remove the cycleway here on this basis?

Hi there, I'd be interested to know what source you've used to change the classification of Southern Road and Chifley Drive. I can't see anything from the Council or VicRoads to indicate any change in classification.

Thanks Warin61, good point! I'll switch that over now

Hi thanks for your contribution to Openstreetmap! Just flagging that these tags are not level crossings in real life. These are tram tracks operating in mixed traffic conditions on roads without their own right of way. I've removed the ones that I can find but just FYI for the future. Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for your edits @MapAbility. Just a note that railway=tram_crossing is not really for use in mixed traffic conditions like in Melbourne. Really only where the tram is separated from traffic in its own right of way and a path or road crosses. Happy to chat further, thanks!
