Hi
There is no need to delete private tracks. Instead just add the tag access=private.
It is useful to know about tracks that cross your path and in emergency situations it may become more important to know the details of tracks and paths in the vicinity.

Hi
welcome to the OpenStreetMap.
The name tag is only for things that really have a name not for the residents name.
I have removed the name.
name=*

Hi
welcome to the OpenStreetMap.
Boundaries for political letterbox pamphlet campaigns are not suitable for inclusion in the OpenStreetMap.
Please use something more suitable such as Umap
https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/
I will remove your edits for the letterbox drops.

Hi
Regarding “Satellite imagery is very old”, you are not restricted to using Bing imagery. You may find other imagery available in iD is more up to date.

Qld Topo has the street name change the same as osm about where the creek crossing is.
Tks

Hi Grahame80
I noticed an accidentally shifted road node connected to a stream ( https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=91026578 ). I have shifted it back to where it belongs. Can you check if it all looks ok, thanks.

Looks good with correct tagging.

@aharvey, I have reverted my changesets, returning to state of last Dimity edit

90809468 over 5 years ago

Ok. I will revert my changeset. I was not comfortable abusing the name tag further anyway.
Can I leave you to do your preferred changes because I’m not familiar with traffic sign tagging.

Hi
I made a small stub of the path to the block visible and changed the wording of the sign name to make the situation clearer (hopefully)

Hi Dimity
This note is not on the path leading to Burning Palms so unable to interfere with routers.
I have used this router to route along the pathhttps://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/map-91e8299--44
I was able to route by hiking using Gaia too.
The path to Burning Palms appears to be tagged correctly for hiking but is not suitable for cycling.
In view of what you have said, I have re-instated the sign info as before which relates to a different path to keep the OpenStreetMap.org database correct.

Hi Dimity
has this track to the figure of Eight Pools been re-opened? Has the block been removed too?
Do the tags associated with these need updating?

I simplified the area by mapping a simple polygon along Paynter Creek tagged with waterway=riverbank and same with the smaller adjoining creek. This is in common with other waterways nearby.
Multipolygons are not required here.

Hi
this is complicated and needs fixing.

Do you want me to fix and/or simplify.

Whilst I am especially adept at following trails, I find these that I mapped to be quite easily found and followed and it is my practice to use flagging tape in places where others may go astray for added safety. Because you were unable to find the trails, I shall re-hike the area to ascertain if they exist still before I re-state the paths. I am reluctant to delete bush paths mapped by others that become difficult to follow state because they can be quickly improved by renewed use by hikers once they are aware of their existence through the osm map.
There is provision for marking trail visibility in osm and because seldom used trails in difficult areas often have sections that are difficult to navigate they are an important tag. How renderers manage the display should not nuance correct tagging in osm.

highway=path

trail_visibility=*

Many of us quite like to follow the less travelled ways and really enjoy following though bush areas that have difficult to follow paths. These should be mapped and tagged appropriately even if faintly visible at times. I would like to see mappers add text descriptions to section of trails where it would benefit hikers but this is rarely done in practice but is probably best done in other places like wikiloc instead.
Thanks for the feedback and please be more cautious on deleting what others found important enough to survey and map.
