i don't think local rules contradict, but general rules cant be applied globally, aslo some need local knowledge to tag correctly.

I noticed u changing tag to residential for non residential area in thrissur town, which made me write this comment.I had noticed similar edits at other places on kerala too.

Looks like people are wrongly marking places so that they could have biomes and thus required pokemon at their home.

I have tried to reach this user on multiple platforms and he is not repsonding to this.

In thia case u can long tap on the road and choose edit and type in what to do in addition info space.

looks like edit feature of mapsme can leave notes, the additional info on edit , adds note to osm

it's an osm feature to leave notes with markers, its used by mapsme to add additional details about poi, but it looks like it mapsme cant make notes alone.Try osmand too it has more powerful features for editing and it can leave notes.

@srihari many people are now using mapsne app to add poi and as its list is very limited they go for the first one.

u can just create a note, without making wrong tags.

To add a buisness to the mall, just a new poi, dont edit the polygon of the whole mall.
Revderting changes and adding poi now, move and add details on openstreetmap.org

there are also more nodes like this. Also i see @PlaneMad adding :en tag for these nodes after the main tag was edited to add tamil too in the name.
So there will be a reason for him to leave it like that.

First what i did was remove tamil version from name, but then thought of reverting my change to include tamil version, as it may help someone, not sure.
