Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location.

Next time, you can improve by avoiding mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately. Zoom in as close as possible to see the outline of the buildings, hit each corner of the building carefully. Look for shadows, open ground, changes in roof color and vegetation to differentiate buildings.

Hi, thanks for mapping.

After mapping buildings, please remember to square their corners. Most buildings have square corners because that's easy to build. Unless the building is clearly a different shape then it's best to assume that the corners should be squared.

Please do not connect the corners of buildings to other buildings or features such as roads and paths. In the iD Editor, hold down the `Alt` key to keep nodes from snapping to other objects and accidentally connecting.

Hi, thanks for mapping. You requested a review of your mappings.

Your buildings are well mapped. Good location and precise outline.

In a few instances you deleted a building to replace it with another one. It would be wise to use the JOSM tool "Replace geometry" (part of Utilsplugin2 plugin). It will maintain the history of the deleted mapping.

Thanks and regards, Martien, HOT validator.

There are a few buildings that to me seem round, while you mapped them square. But Bing is blurry, so it is difficult to say with certainty.

way/1409474074, way/1409474075.

I removed these 2 landuse=residential. Motivation: no buildings. Maybe you interpreted the light spots on the imagery as buildings. Due to size and irregular shape i think they are not.

The correction you did in the east side of this changeset is well done. Thanks for mapping that.

Hi, thanks for mapping.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Most buildings do have right angled corners and we need our mapping to reflect that. Accurate building footprints are important because building sizes are often used to estimate population sizes for an area to conduct humanitarian activities. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon.

To improve for next time, please zoom in close enough when tracing to avoid buildings sharing nodes or else overlapping. If buildings need to be adjusted or improved later on, it is much harder to do that if they share nodes with nearby features.

Hi, thanks for mapping.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Most buildings do have right angled corners and we need our mapping to reflect that. One can get fooled by shadows falling from the neighboring buildings or trees, and think that these form the edge of the building. Resulting in some weird building shapes That is happening here also. Using alternative imagery for a 2nd opinion, eg mapbox, might be helpful.

Hi, thanks for mapping.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. There are a few issue though.
1. Buildings sharing nodes with neighboring buildings. Please avoid this, if buildings need to be adjusted or improved later on, it is much harder to do if they share nodes with nearby features. 2. Unsquared buildings: most buildings do have right angled corners and we need our mapping to reflect that. Accurate building footprints are important because building sizes are often used to estimate population sizes for an area to conduct humanitarian activities. 3. Including courtyard in the building outline: use alternative imagery, eg Mapbox, to get a better view of the outlines.
