The highway i am referring to is:
way/1195601510

139915988 over 2 years ago

I mean the highway going north south (Way: 1195601510). To me that does not connect a settlement, leading only to a few afaics isolated barns.

139492575 over 2 years ago

Thanks for flagging, i retagged the highway to unclassifed.

And i also connected a floating highway to this highway. Btw, shouldn't this highway be better tagged as track?

Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon.

One additional request: currently you are uploading every feature (like a building) apart. It is better to wait with uploading after you mapped several features (say 5 to 10 buildings). That way you work much faster, and it makes reviewing your work by validators easier.

Please watch these 2 short video for more info:

Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location.

But please accurately outline all the buildings you can find more precise. The outline should be for the full size of the building even if it is partly covered by trees in the imagery. Take care to not include the building shadow in the building outline. After drawing the outline and tagging as a building, use the 'Q' key in the iD & JOSM editors to "square" the corners. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon.

Also, be careful with deleting features. The buildings that you deleted here were just out of position. It would be better to move them to their correct position and maybe partially retrace them. Not deleting them would keep their history intact.

And please do not let buildings share nodes with neighboring features. Even if they seem to be connected and are close together. If buildings need to be adjusted or improved later on, it is much harder to do that if they share nodes with nearby features.

Hi, thanks for mapping. You requested a review of your mappings.

Your buildings are well mapped. Good location, square corners and outline.

Sometimes the traced outline is a bit off. To tackle this is so try to zoom in a bit further. Zooming in and out repeatedly also helps to see the building outline better.

Thanks and regards,

Martien, HOT validator.

To map the crossing roads properly i added a layer and tunnel tag. This produced a duplicate nodes error, that i couldn't solve. However, i left it for the sake of the road mappings.

Hi, thanks for mapping. I am validating this project.

Unfortunately i found a few issues here.

Please avoid mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately.

Also please avoid buildings sharing nodes or else overlapping

This area contains several tall buildings where also part of the walls is visible. In that situation you should trace the roof outline and then move that outline to the building footprint. See for more info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAPiGntG6fs

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location. But pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon.

Hi, thanks for mapping and welcome to HOT. You requested a review of your mappings.

The buildings you mapped are well done as to their location.

Allow me to give some tips on improving your mappings:
- avoid mapping several buildings as one building. Every building must be traced separately. The humanitarian teams use the size of the buildings to estimate the number of people living there.
- avoid buildings sharing nodes or else overlapping, eg with roads
- pay attention to the squareness of the corners. Always draw buildings as square and precise as you can. Then add the Building feature type. And last, right click it and click the square icon.
