| 113446417 | about 4 years ago | then something that would be of very high impact (in my opinion) is to follow rivers (mapped or unmapped) and add buildings (isolated or grouped). if you see a group of buildings you can add a place=hamlet, from 30-40 buildings it would probably be a village. adding landuse=residential is less relevant IMO. blue roofs are generally schools, but not always. |
| 113446417 | about 4 years ago | hi, thanks, do you want to do more in the wider area? what is it that you enjoy mapping most? |
| 90831885 | about 4 years ago | The point that I am trying to make: please do not reclassify roads that were classified by a local person, unless you have visited it in person, or if you have a fair understanding of and familiarity with the place. Always first check with any local community. |
| 90831885 | about 4 years ago | (there's lots of things you can do as a remote mapper, to help OSM in Panamá. joining road segments and reclassifying objects are not among them. adding houses in rural areas is a much better idea, or exploring unmapped areas and adding roads as unclassified or path, as we've mentioned in the Telegram group from time to time. or come to the group and let's compare your mapping preferences with the local mappers and the available information.) |
| 90831885 | about 4 years ago | hei … I'm not interested in reverting your work, I wish to help you provide useful edits to the community. the question **why** still stands: maybe you know something that I don't know.
|
| 90831885 | about 4 years ago | hola. **why** did you change the classification of roads tagged as residential to agricultural track or unspecified service? the previous classification was done by a local mapper.

| 91913149 | about 4 years ago | it's not "me" who does not "want" you to do that, it's me showing you the consequences of a bad practice. there's communities which split roads at intersections systematically, as they're mapping them at version:1. here *and elsewhere* draw roads as you prefer, but DO NOT JOIN segments of already existing roads. |

| 108979104 | about 4 years ago | it's always a risk, joining road segments. easier to follow the rule of thumb "don't do that". ;-) |
| 108979104 | about 4 years ago | hi. am I repeating myself? or I'm just imagining it? please do not join road segments, by doing this, you break relations! |
| 112816323 | about 4 years ago | hola. has reclasificado una parte de la panamericana, más allá que Yaviza. cuál es la fuente utilizada? si reviso con Esri, no me parece que se justifique. pero quizás visitaste el lugar? |

| 102142261 | about 4 years ago | hola. si quieres ayuda para mejorar tu estilo, por favor busca contacto con la comunidad local o global. aquí pusiste una nueva área residencial dentro de otra ya existente. |

| 61172145 | about 4 years ago | I wrote a diary page related to this (@mariotomo/diary/397428), and who knows, HOT might be feeling the pressure, or they're simply putting some order by their own initiative. On the other hand, we're approaching the yearly GIS Day (an Esri event) and this is always a trigger for YouthMappers. We will see. |
