I’m lpf (梁鹏飞, Liang Pengfei), an amateur OpenStreetMap mapping enthusiast from Dazhou, Sichuan, China.

I am a native Chinese speaker and have a working proficiency in English (CEFR B2). I primarily contribute to OSM using JOSM, Vespucci, and StreetComplete.

Data Sources & Methodology

Transparency is key. Here are the sources I rely on for my mapping:

1. My own GPX tracks and on-the-ground surveys > This is my most trusted data source, gathered during my field surveys.

2. Jilin-1 Satellite Imagery > High-resolution and up-to-date imagery, excellent for detailed micromapping. I use this when Tianditu is blurry or cloud-covered.

3. Tianditu Satellite Imagery > A good alternative to Bing/Esri in China, often providing more recent views. Note: I only use the satellite layer to avoid any copyright issues.

4. Bing Aerial Imagery > The community-approved standard. While sometimes outdated, it offers exceptional clarity in rural areas, making it ideal for mapping tracks and unpaved roads.
