I believe a tag 4wd_only=yes exists in osm wiki, which helps in differentiating tracks that are passable by cars or 4x4.

Probably a 4wd only track rendering should be implemented. I had that unlucky experience of getting into an unmarked 4wd road in a remote US national forest ( road exists on topo map, but not classified as 4x4 only) in a Toyota Tercel. That was an unforgettable experience, but luckily I got through to the main roads again. Phew!

You mean it might have a track “prediction” algorithm?

I’ll consider that. Somehow trying to fix anonymous note like these might just mean doing it manually. Those notes seems to be an automatic import from some gps nav software by some well meaning soul. (that’s the bad part- quite a few mappers here are trying to quickly populate the map without regard of legality of where those information come from)

Good to hear Potlatch is still alive. No better editor at aligning long stretch of highway than this.

ni automated punya sistem ni. Format dia macam directions dari gps yang masuk dalam log. Area Sg Petani aku dah padam sebanyak mungkin, cuma exit name apa semua tu aku biar dulu kot2 boleh dimanfaatkan sebagai tag exit_to=](http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:exit_to) dan jugak [destination=.

Tapi memang hati kering betul le sapa yang buat ni, macam cendawan tumbuh lepas hujan!

the same pattern is repeated in Klang Valley, although in a somewhat much useful form. Somebody took the liberty to name almost all the exits of the major motorways passing through the cities.

Too bad the names doesn’t exactly fit into OSM category: name, ref, exit_to or destination.

thanks. I’ll give it a try with iD. Already tried the JOSM trick, but the extrapolated zoom at level 18/19 is a bit too blocky but I am looking at trying to do that without sharpening applied.

Mintak aje gps points untuk satu dua jalan (selalunya diorang ukur kat curb/bahu jalan), lepas tu kita susun points tu jadi gpx. Kalau dapat kiri-kanan jalan, kita boleh calculate line tengah dalam excel, pakai gpsbabel export jadi gpx. Dapat kiri atau kanan pun kira oklah juga, tu accuracy pun dah cantik sangat dah, lagipun bukannya kita boleh zoom satellite image sampai nampak tepi jalan pun untuk alignment dalam OSM.

Tapi pengalaman aku, tukang teropong jalan ni tak selalunya deal dengan plan preparation (autocad). Selalunya kat opis dia ada orang lain yang buat. Tapi kalau ada yang sudi, tukang teropong boleh bagi koordinit RSO Kertau (?) untuk job diorang hari tu (cuma kalau ada error masa diorang setup, error jugaklah yang kita dapat). Dapat 4 point MRSO x-y dalam 50 meter spread kot, lepas tu kita convert WGS84, buat line dalam JOSM (dalam JOSM boleh specify koordinit untuk letak node), dan align.

Hebat hang… rasanya bila hang join balik bulak jun, aku dah habis trace area aloq setaq nun.. hehe.

Bila kita dapat gps coordinate yang rasmi dalam bentuk x-y punya line(dari jupem ataupun daripada geng2 surveyor), kita boleh align map cantik2, lepas tu cari jalan nak lock supaya tak ada le newbies yang datang dan realign map balik. Kalau idak, sampai ke mati le keje aku dok realign trace yang sedia ada..
