Hi there editid0,
You may not be aware of this but there are two standards for mapping sidewalks(pavements) on osm. One uses tags on the road way and another maps them as separate ways like that ones that you deleted. The ones that were deleted were rather poorly done and and out of place so so there nothing really lost by deleting them in this case but you should add a sidewalk tag to the roads as a replacement so no detail is lost. you can read more on the wiki here:
osm.wiki/Sidewalks
sidewalk=*
hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions you may have,
kind regards,
kits

i've added a relation and change the service road back

154814426 over 1 year ago

to expand on what i just said, i just looked up this route. Its not a full NCN route but a "Link Route". No one has create a relation for these routes here, the lack of a relation is most likely the reason why its not appearing in your renderer of choice.

154814426 over 1 year ago

then that is a fault of the renderers and the renderers should be the one to fix it. It is bad practice to tag for a particular renderer, please see: osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer
NCN routes very regularly follow roads, this is not a rare case and it being a service road doesn't change anything and ncn routes should be tagged with bicycle=yes or bicycle=designated and also have a route relation.

Hi there, OS maps and Google Maps cannot be used in any way when contributing to OSM. This is due to their licences being incompatible the OSM licence and could make OSM open to being sued for copyright infringement.

154814426 over 1 year ago

Hi, I believe this change is incorrect, its is a service road up to the gate. if this is part of a ncn route then it should be a service road with the tag `bicycle=designated`

Oh and i forgot, in ID, the OSM website editor, you can press `Q` to square ways to make them look a bit cleaner

Hi andrew,
Overall your changes look good. only one tiny mistake, on the last section of track where it meets the house, you have it tagged with `width=0` which doesn't make sense. Only suggestions I can offer are minor. you could tag the house as `building=detached` instead of `building=house` to be more specific. you also add a gate node to the start of the track and lastly you could possibly tag the track as `access=private`
Hope this feedback helps,
Kind regards,
Kits

ye sorry, I saw it while I was adding them but forgot to fix it before committing. i'll fix it asap.

I do apologise, I was rushing and made a bad assumption since I've never seen mixed voltage pylons. In hindsight I'm not sure why I change the voltages, should have tagged the ref and left the rest alone. Thanks for fixing it.

Hi there Will,
Welcome to OSM. I would like to make a few comments about this changeset. firstly, landuse=farm is a deprecated tag and should not be used. the original landuse=farmyard would be more appropriate here. Secondly I can see you've added crop=grass to a field, this is perfectly fine if this is specifically a field for growing a grass type crop. however if this is actually a grazing field for animals then it should be tagged with landuse=meadow instead of farmland. farmland is specifically for growing land.
Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Kits

Hi there Case,
just a small tip, correct tags for fields is landuse=meadow for grazing fields. and landuse=farmland for growing fields instead of natural=grassland.
hope this helps,

Hi there Bobe, welcome to OSM.
Just a small tip, in ID, the OSM web based editor, you can press `Q` to square a way. this would make your houses a lot cleaner. Also semi-detached houses should be connected by at least 2 nodes, you can simply drag nodes on to other nodes or lines to connect them. Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Kits

Hi there LDCMidds13, Welcome to OSM.
I would like to give you a bit of input on this changeset. Ideally each of these semi-detached houses should be split down the middle into 2 houses each with a single value for addr:housenumber. This has the benefit of making it easer for the exact address to be found but also most software don't understand concaternated house numbers like "1 & 2" or "1;2" so it makes it easer for software too. you can see a good example of semi-detached houses i've done here: osm.org/#map=19/51.76923/-3.28708
kind regards,
Kits

hi spaghettios, I believe it was a mistake to remove this route. As the wiki states "route=ferry can be used for large ferries carrying passengers, bicycles, cars, trucks and even rail cars"
This is a barge that carries railcars for a fee. as such it fits this definition perfectly.

Hi Sabor, Welcome to OSM congrats on your first changeset. I noted you appeared to have accidently moved a bench into the middle of the roundabout. I've corrected it and put it back. Please take care not to accidently move nodes in the future.
Kind Regards, Kits.

Hi there and welcome to OSM. Just dropping in to make a small comment, Its best practice to limit your changesets to a local area when possible so in this case you would have one changeset for Thurso and another for Portsmouth. There is nothing wrong with what you've done but this just makes it easer for auditing tools to manage.
happy mapping,
Kits :)

Hi, and welcome to OSM! I noticed that a lot of your recent changesets included only one edit - note that (while there's nothing actually wrong with that!) it's perfectly fine to include several similar edits within the same area in one changeset. Feel free to message me if you have any questions, and happy mapping!
