| 76473086 | about 6 years ago | Hi rbest, welcome to OSM! There were a couple of problems with this changeset, so I've reverted the changes with changeset/76609305. Specifically, all of the cycle paths you mapped are already on the map. Note that not every cycle path has to be mapped as a highway=cycleway. Very often they're indicated with other tags (such as bicycle=designated) added to another kind of highway=* way. Also, you connected one cycleway directly to the underground tracks of the F train -- careful about connecting ways on different levels. Please let me know if you have any question, happy to help! jmapb |
| 75994412 | about 6 years ago | Hi sainiyam! I've reverted this changeset. It appears the roads you drew were from outdated imagery (Bing.) The most up-to-date aerial imagery in NYC at the moment is Mapbox Satellite followed closely by ESRI World and NY State Orthos, which have the same imagery at the moent (ESRI's is better resolution but NY State has better alignment.) | 76499085 | about 6 years ago | (Hah, sorry, typed "Kings" instead of "Kingston", too much time in Brooklyn...) |
| 76499085 | about 6 years ago | HI kataplexis, welcome to OSM! I reviewed this and connected your park parts into a single multipolygon ( relation/10247656 ) with the land boundary as the outer way and the water boundary as the inner way. Two questions though --
2) Currently there's no connection between the park paths and the rail trail except at this bridge: way/188697910
Let me know if you have any questions, J |
| 73327503 | about 6 years ago | Thanks for dealing with it! J |
| 75417331 | about 6 years ago | Ah, nevermind, I see it -- just looking at the wrong imagery. Happy mapping, J |
| 75417331 | about 6 years ago | Hi siddhaam, this service road ( way/732639394 ) looks a little odd to me, what's the source for this? |
| 75318172 | about 6 years ago | Hi Travelling Germans... Just wondering if this bar was supposed to be in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan... This is the only nearby bar named Skylark as far as I know: node/2550585185 Thanks, J |
| 73327503 | about 6 years ago | Hi zmoore!
On what basis did you remove the oneway restriction from Albee Square? Thanks, jmapb |
| 75037972 | about 6 years ago | Thanks for finding all these in a single changeset! I suspect they may all be bogus locations but I haven't been able to survey any of the supposed locations in person yet. |
| 74603889 | over 6 years ago | Hi rivermont, thanks for adding this building -- you're fast! I've added the height and building ID tags from the NYC dept of buildings, and standardized the address tags. Addresses in NYC generally lack city, state, and country, and instead simply have housenumber, street, and postcode. This has been the common standard here since the building and address import in 2013. It's not wrong to add the other tags of course... but if you do, note that the addr:city tag value here would be "Brooklyn". The value of "New York" is only used within the borough of Manhattan. Happy mapping, J |
| 73707010 | over 6 years ago | If the building will still be using that address (1487 Broadway) it's better keep the node there and just remove the tags specific for the cafe. Otherwise we lose the fact that this address is associated with this building. (This issue usually only comes up for corner buildings with an address on two streets, or for large muti-address buildings. Most others have address tags directly on the building itself.) Anyway I've resurrected this node and left just the base address tags from the original building import, all good. Happy mapping. j |
| 73764135 | over 6 years ago | Hi ept -- what's up with these nonsense changeset comments? |
| 73730320 | over 6 years ago | Hi, I believe from survey that this restaurant is 100% vegetarian, so the tag diet:vegetarian=only is correct. Is this untrue? |
| 73707010 | over 6 years ago | Howdy AV... is this place just closed (ie, it might reopen as something else) or actually gone (ie,the building's been reconfigured without this storefront, or replaced with a new building altogether?) |
| 73631982 | over 6 years ago | HI noneck, I've reverted this changeset with changeset/73958224. It looks like you were trying to add crosswalk info but accidentally modified the subway line. |
| 73011657 | over 6 years ago | I've reverted in changeset/73931493. If there are still routing issues here, please let me know and we'll figure it out! J |
| 73011657 | over 6 years ago | way/60942164 really is =destination for motor vehicles -- It's not a public road but people can drive to the end of that segment and unload supplies for the picnic areas to the east. (I suppose =yes or =permissive would also work, but =destination feels most correct to me.) Motor vehicles can't go any further than that -- but people and bicycles can, and this is the primary use of the remainder of the road, though it can be used by vehicles with a permit. (Same with the other service roads around Litchfield Villa) Then there are the roads within the park forestry complex (44 West Drive), which are completely off limits except to park personnel. So it really is a mix of different access types. I'm not sure what weird results you were seeing, but here's what I'm seeing now: https://imgur.com/a/bw931DK
I'm planning to revert these access changes when I get a moment. J |
| 73357789 | over 6 years ago | Great, I know some real estate developers around here are using some pretty hip names these days but I guess NYCHA's still a little more conservative! |
| 73011657 | over 6 years ago | Hi Zverik -- You've changed a few service roads here to access=destination with the source listed as "Juno provider traces" but I don't see any sign of Juno activity on these roads. Last I surveyed here all of these were signed as authorized vehicles only -- has this changed? J |
