You deleted an important road 'Thambuchettypalya Main Road' n this edit without adequate reason. Accordingly I've reverted the edit. Please check before updating, and if there is a good reason, make sure you give it. Thanks.

Hi Buch_kp

What sort of castle is this please. Can you provide any references, or is it just your home?

Thanks, user indigomc

Hi Lavanya Devraj

I've removed most of the cycleway tags that you have added to the map in recent days. Please note that the highway=cycleway is for a road that cars are not allowed on. See highway=cycleway. Do not change motor roads (highway = secondary, et.c.) to cycleways. Also do not add a new way overlaying an existing way. You can indicate that cycling is permitted by adding tags, and and if there are separate cycleways you must draw a separate way for them. Finally, you have added 'ford=yes' to many roads; this is for a river crossing. I've removed these as well. The docking stations entries you made however still remain.

Having put the Thai content into a dictionary, they seem to represent things of interest for travellers, e.g. cafe's, viewpoints, et.c.. I suspect that they are not names and actually describe the mapping feature. Until a Thai speaker can be found to check, the thing to do might be to at least remove the 'tourism=caravan_site' from all of them.

Thank you for your efforts. You don't say what sort of enquiry it was. Since I added the name originally, I felt I had to have seen evidence, so I've looked at it again. I see the following evidence which you can look up -

On geonames it is shown as Pavuru Uliya (actually it shows long vowels with diacritics, Pāvūru Uḷiya), which you can see by adding the geonames layer on JOSM. This map also shows a location on the south side of the river as Pavuru.

On AMS maps (which you can find at http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/ams/india/ there is a location called Pavuru on the south side of the river, though the island is not named.

The island's name is confirmed in an English form as Pavoor Uliya at
https://www.google.co.in/maps/place/Pavoor+Uliya,+Karnataka+575029/@12.8632496,74.9301752,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x3ba358f08cecc113:0x558068836f3fae09!8m2!3d12.860645!4d74.9340293
and at
http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=12.857097&lon=74.938281&z=16&m=b&show=/17156751/Pavoor-Uliya
where there is also some descriptive text.

There are references to islands in the two rivers elsewhere (do a web search), where an island called Pavuru Uliya is described.

I then looked up the word 'uliya'. At the Tulu dictionary at www.tuluworld.org, there are two meanings. One is 'a placename'. The other is

ಹೊಳೆಯ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಸುತ್ತುವರಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಭೂಭಾಗ;ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ದ್ವೀಪ
A tract of land surrounded by river;A small river island or peninsula

Hence it is clear that the island is named Pavuru Uliya after the hamlet called Pavuru on the south side of the river. Whoever advised you that the name is associated with 'the other side of river' seems to have been referring to the hamlet. If you can find clear references elsewhere contrary to this which others can check, please state them. I have restored the previous names.

Thank you again.

I was not referring to the form of the name written in 'English', for which there may be different forms and which I see you have now replaced with another form. I was talking also about the removal of the Kannada name.

42847725 about 9 years ago

In this changeset you deleted the old node which had information that was not carried over (the Kannada name). You should have changed the old node or ensured that you copied over all information.

Hi
Why did you remove the names from this island please. Are you sure that they are wrong. If so, do you have the correct name?

42892213 about 9 years ago

The node is now in the road carriageway of Bellary Road. The building is on the other side of Anandnagar Main Road. Please correc.t

42892213 about 9 years ago

Deleted node instead of modifying it. Moved it even further away from the actual building.

42886386 about 9 years ago

Deleted one existing hospital node. Created two others. The original should have been modified. Please correct.

You dragged a road junction and attached it to an unrelated road across a large area here. Please be careful.

42893001 about 9 years ago

Created a second police station as a copy of an existing one. Included in an unrelated way for the hospital.
