One section / carriageway of Hoodi Main Road was changed from primary to residential. I've restored that, please check the rest of the changes in this changeset.

This changed the name of the Taj Mahal (principal item) to something incorrect, apparantly two alternative versions one after the other, in Tamil. Take care in future edits please.

The disputed Kalapani territory has at least one bad relationship. See note note/2096182 and the border marked to its south and west which includes an orphan section of the Indian border. This should be corrected, but there are multiple relations here that I cannot work out. I have broken the border (split the way) at node/2995999958 to try to isolate the fault for now.

It's not needed of course, and I've just removed it. The reason such things exist is that they are drawn as relations by the software (scanaerial). Then I assume i had to decide if to delete the spurious stuff, islands et.c. when they are intermittently flooded. Sometimes all the other members are deleted but by mistake the relation remains unnecessarily. Please feel free to remove if you see more.

Hi Likitha

Can you please explain what the 'names' that you added to the buildings are?

Also can you please square off the buildings in line with aerial imagery please.

Thanks, user indigomc.

I've looked at bit further. I cannot find information on polling stations here now, it might have been removed because of security. The original import probably included some civic offices, as many are in small buildings without playgrounds and the typical infrastructure of a school. Unless the original importer comments, I can't think what else to suggest. Revert all?

Hi

Can you please explain and expand these names you added to the map. Not just these but for instance HGHJ and most others. Please justify it in terms of the naming guidelines.

Hi. No I cannot be sure of this, particularly this particular node since it seems to be clearly out of place, probably on the wrong side of the river and too close to the water edge. However I do remember making this change. Polling stations are temporary here, as in Britain. Most of them are placed in schools across India; 95% or more in my estimation across Karnataka. See http://www.elections.in/polling-stations.html for an example, though this also shows a lack of detail in JK state. I understood editor thevikas was trying to make them stand out for the election.

In this case however, on looking more closely it is apparent that a lot of the locations seem to be very unlikely settings, such as the suspicious number located in a river channel. I will try to revisit it.

This is years old so I have not looked it up. I use my judgement and some cross-checking as to whether to trust the note's originator. If we only act on 'trustworthy' reports then we probably need a system of ranking and rating those who add notes. How would you do it?

Restored.

Hello, perhaps I made a mistake. I'm not certain but I thought there were two stations with both named nodes and ways, so I removed dupe tags. But I cannot see this for this station. I'll look in detail tomorrow and correct it.

hi कुमार

Please don't delete 'badly drawn' objects unless they are uselessly bad. They may not be perfect but they were drawn with the best imagery available at the time. If you feel they should be better, feel free to improve them. Most of the lakes you deleted in this changeset are clearly visible in current imagery. Thanks, from user indigomc.

Sorry, but this is an ancient changeset, and by the look of it, it covered a wide area and included multiple lakes. Can you create an osm note on the exact dam or lake?

64647030 about 7 years ago

Hi L1nny, thanks for this. And I wasn't aware that there were comments on varying water levels under waterway=riverbank, I'll have a look there now.

Further comment / question
1. Do you have a clear reason for using DG Premium as the source, rather than say Bing as it was before? Even if it is not the latest it is not necessarily the best.
2. How does it make sense to split a single reservoir into a number of distinct riverbank sections, when it is plainly a single reservoir?

64647030 about 7 years ago

Hi

I see you have altered this large reservoir to a collection of sections of rivers. Hence the original multipolygon has lost its unity. The Krishnaraja Sagara is not just the section at the outlet end.
Also, you have used the 'most recent imagery', where the water level is lower than normal. This is likely to be outdated each year during the monsoon. I accept that the question of which water level to mark is unclear, hence I have raised a discussion at the OSM topic 'landuse=reservoir'

Thanks, user indigomc

I've removed the entry you made 'Drug Dealer's House' in this changeset. Whether it is true or not, it seems to be quite inappropriate. If there is other information why it should be entered, please explain in a note. Thanks.

Removed, as random quadrilateral. Parthgbhatt, please provide the evidence if you add it again.
