This is a comment about the renaming of Bagepalli. We draw maps here, and the maps should reflect what is on the ground. It is now likely that that the town will become known under this name over coming years, but it has not happened yet. Both district and state websites still refer to the old name.

Thanks for all your contributions around the Hampi ruins. However, please do not add descriptions e.g. 'carved stone figure (Nandu)' as names. Obviously some descriptions will double as names, but for instance, 'Carved stone figure (Nandu)' is not.

There is a 'description=value' key/tag pair. I've altered many of these now.

This is to tell you that I'm deleting the 'Thesis site' addition that you made to the ruins at Hampe, apparently marking cliffs into a new chasm at the centre of this site.

Maybe it is supposed to indicate something else. If so, please state for discussion as needed - e.g. are there archaelogical digs taking place in the area? I believe the ASI is carrying out some digs.

Without explanation, I assume that it was a joke, but if so, it is one of the type that would 'bring OSM into disrepute'. Please don't do it again. Thanks, from editor indigomc.

Some of the 'lakes' added in this changeset, especially around Srinivaspur, (e.g. by Timmasandra, just to NE of the town) are actually plantations of some kind. These need checking out.

However, I checked it on the way home last night and there is no change. I therefore reverted your change just now.
Note also that Google Maps seems to have taken your change as a signal, and since last week shows this bridge as open - it was marked closed there before.
Finally, if you follow the links referred to in my original message (OSM notes and the 'note' key value on the bridge), it is clear that the bridge will not re-open for years.

With regard to this changeset, are you sure about the status of Broadmead Road. I've not seen it for a couple of weeks, but I'm pretty certain it is still closed to vehicles, from the junction of St. Barnabas Road, up to the last house on the west side. It will remain closed for some years. See the OSM notes on the bridge for references.

I see that the changeset went through with no comment, this was somewhat careless but not something I do often. Maybe dinner was ready or something!

For naming rivers, I understand the point of the rule. I was following other common practice, which is to match each name. This may be more important when there are different local names for many longer rivers or trans national rivers.

I have removed the invisible 'td road' that was added in this changeset/84407007, and also the equally invisible 'Marthanda bridge'. I have checked newer imagery.

Changed 'name' of some features (LBC and RBC) to descriptive names. The name tag is for an actual name, and should not be used for obscure codes or abbreviations. Other codes similarly named, e.g. D-21, et.c. should be renamed and the code placed elsewhere, e.g. 'designation'.

Please do not removed valid information. Use 'English' (you mean the Latin script) may be standard practice but you need to retain the existing data. Please change these in future to name:ml if you fell it necessary, but deleting it is against policy.

As with this edit, you have capitalised the name fully. This is against standard English and OSM guidelines. Are you able to correct these.

Changed residential land to water. Reverted and deleted.

This changeset included one road running on the north boundary of HDMA urban forest in Hyderabad from single to dual carriageway without correcting the name 'toward alwal'; so the name was then pointing both ways. Name removed.
