I've been mapping for 15 years myself, so I can appreciate the effort that you're taking here. I'm sure you also know how difficult it is to look back at the history of deleted OSM objects, so it would be great to re-use existing features so that you don't remove history of existing work on a map feature, especially when it comes to important features like major roads. I know that iD makes it easier to delete and remap, but the little bit of extra effort to improve existing features is really helpful. Anyway, continue enjoying mapping and have a great evening!

Please try to improve the existing roads instead of deleting and re-mapping them. This is important because you're removing the history of the existing roads, but you might also be breaking data (like highway relations or bus routes) that rely on those existing roads.

I switched it to "Interstate Highway 35W" in changeset/113288623. I don't think it needs an alt_name tag. The other names probably belong on route relations or something as they aren't commonly used.

Hi! Last I checked highway 62 still had a 55 mph speed limit. Did that change recently?

Note that this road already has the "West County Road E2" on it in the "name_1" tag. Is this road not called 5th Street Northwest at all?

Also, when setting the name for a road please make sure you expand all contractions, so instead of "W Co Rd E2", write out "West County Road E2".

Hi! This road is in fact a "Blue Star Memorial Highway" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Star_Memorial_Highway), but probably doesn't need to be named that along its entire length.

Having said that, it's name is most definitely not Interstate Highway 35 West. The "35W" does not mean "35 West". I'm going to revert this change.
