Sie wurde im Zuge des S-Bahn-Baus ab 1962 in "Stammstrecke der Wiener S-Bahn" unbenannt (Abschnitt Wien Meidling <> Wien Floridsdorf). Der Name "Verbindungsbahn" blieb nur noch für den Abschnitt zwischen Wien Meidling und Wien Penzing bzw. der Zweigstrecke nach Wien Hütteldorf in Verwendung - siehe https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahnstrecke_Wien_Penzing%E2%80%93Wien_Meidling |
