Changeset When Comment

Hello again!

The community does appreciate some communication as this is a collaborative project... No reply so far :-(

The questionable entry was now fixed by another mapper.

Hello Kate!

Unfortunately there was no reply concerning your changeset after a week.

OSM is a collaborative project which involves some communication with fellow mappers. If you do not reply, your entries don't do any good for anyone and will eventually be removed.

Waiting for a sign of life over there....

Hallo!

Hello again!

Please be so kind to reply to requests which are forwarded to you as a changeset comment. OSM is a collaborative project, and that needs a lot of communication to be successful...

Hello...? Anybody at home...?

I see your problem. Mmmh, I will do some research on how they did it with German universities over here (maybe large hospitals have the same "problem"), and let you know later. Have a nice day!

Moin!

Oh entschuldige, ich meinte way/389072643.

So weit meine Gedanken dazu :-)

I haven't seen the is_in:* tagging on highways so far (only on places). I think your intention is to somehow link the highway=service to the highway=* which is the "main" road where the highway=service comes from. Am I right..?

I would say this is not necessary. Only the main road needs the highway=* + name=* and all POI like hotels and also houses get the address using addr:*.

Service roads do (most of the time) not have names. It is ok to leave them without name. The is_in:housename or is_in:street is not improving anything (when you e.g. think about routing software).

At least that is how it's done here in Europe, I don't know if you have other local agreements in the community.

If you have any questions, let me know :-)

No problem :-) Thanks for the reply anyway. Happy mapping!

Hello and welcome to OSM!

I noticed you added some information to OSM, which ist good. Please keep in mind that, in order to make data useful to other people, you have to tag objects according the OSM wiki (osm.wiki/Main_Page). Otherwise your entries can not be read by software using the OSM database.

Please adjust the tagging of the added objects to fit OSM documentation.

All the best,

Hello!

I am just curious... and wondering if there is a better way to tag the roads. What is your idea behind it?

All the best,

When you want to add the English name of some object please use name:en=* on the already existing object. There is no use in adding new nodes without any information other than the name.

If you have any questions, let me know!

In diesem Fall amenity=recycling.

Viel Spaß beim Mappen weiterhin!

Hello!

Can you please check way/420528651.

There are two different values for operator=* (one seems to be a typo and seems to be written wrong as "opetator").

All the best!

Hello there!

Please check way/420457760. Do you mean irrigation=*?

Happy mapping!

Hello there!

Can you check node/956111131? I think there was some fingertrouble involved here...

All the best from across the Channel!
