| 112700635 | 10 months ago | Hi burrscurr, thank you for your message and sorry for my late reply. Libya seems to have declared the Gulf of Surt as internal waters by this document submitted to United Nations (https://www.un.org/depts/los/LEGISLATIONANDTREATIES/PDFFILES/LBY_1973_Information.pdf), but this is contended by EU (e.g. here https://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document/E-9-2024-000286_EN.html). I made the changeset according to marineregions.org (https://www.marineregions.org/eezdetails.php?mrgid=8372&zone=eez_12nm), which is normally very well researched. In this particular case, the international community is arguing the opening of the Gulf is too wide for internal waters, so feel free to change it back. |

| 121489386 | about 3 years ago | Sorry if I missed any local definition of the city center of Bratislava by the Slovakian OSM community. I simply moved it to the old city center. |
| 103972135 | over 3 years ago | Thank you, I have made a mistake here. Is there any possibility to mass delete these 4000 nodes? |
| 103972135 | over 3 years ago | Hi Ivanbranco, thank you for your remark. I have changed the maritime boundary according to marineregions.org which is based on Marshallese maritime laws. We may remove some nodes if it is considered too detailed. With best regards, hanzlan

| 118881842 | over 3 years ago | Hi Seandebasti, thank you for your comment and the news regardings Mauritian efforts to reclaim the islands. Sorry for the lack of exact source. The exact source is this PDF of British Indian Ocean Territory Maritime Limits from the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office: https://datahub.admiralty.co.uk/portal/apps/sites/#/marine-data-portal/items/4124682d89e244ab8468a3803889d831 I tried to apply the 3 nm maritime limit by using QGIS buffering around the islands. |
| 44658970 | almost 4 years ago | Thank you for your fast reply too. I am pretty active on mapping in Palau at the moment as there are still many islands without any names and detailed maps of Palau are scarce. Toponymy is quite hard as it cannot be seen from satellite imagery, so it's good to have you with local knowledge :) |
| 44658970 | almost 4 years ago | Thank you very much. I was using the name from geonames.org "Ngeruling Hamlet", which is incorrect then. I will change it :-)

| 103841981 | almost 4 years ago | The strange shape is a result of Comoros claim on Mayotte which is administered by France. The archipelagic baselines of Comoros include the island of Mayotte, but due to French administration the part of Mayotte is "cut off". |
| 114004311 | about 4 years ago | yes, exactly |
| 114004311 | about 4 years ago | hey, thank you for the links to the wiki pages. I haven't seen them yet, but they are very informative. to be honest, I only extracted the UTM coordinates and created points in qgis. then i connected them to a line (with straight segments) and saved it as geojson, which I imported into JOSM. In JOSM, I used opentopomap as background layer to finish the line which is mentioned in the gaceta oficial "desde este punto, se sigue por toda la divisoria de aguas que separa todos los afluentes de los ríos Teribe y Changuinola". But I haven't managed to correct the straight segments which should actually follow river lines or contour lines as the UTM points are sometimes a little bit off to the rivers and contour lines in opentopomap. |

| 112801615 | about 4 years ago | Hello, I haven't discussed it as I found coherent sources from both sides mentioning the 6 nautical miles boundaries in the Aegean sea at the moment (in contrary to other seas like the Ionian or Black Sea where both countries officially use the 12 nautical miles boundaries) as the de facto state (even if disputed) should be displayed on OpenStreetMap. Sources mentioning 6 nautical miles in Greek /Turkish parts of Aegean Sea (https://www.ekathimerini.com/in-depth/analysis/234518/factbox-greece-s-territorial-waters-and-turkey/ , https://greekcitytimes.com/2020/11/04/greek-minister-12-miles-territory/ , https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/war/aegean.htm )

| 112702262 | about 4 years ago | Hello,
"LATVIA" https://www.un.org/depts/los/LEGISLATIONANDTREATIES/STATEFILES/LVA.htm The agreement between Estonia and Latvia defines the full maritime boundary between these two countries, but depending on the distance from the coast this boundary separates the territorial seas (up to 12nm), contiguous zones (24nm) or exclusive economic zones (up to 200nm, only theoretically as the Baltic Sea is too small for high seas) of these countries. OSM depicts international maritime boundaries at the edge of the territorial seas therefore the 12nm boundary in the Gulf of Riga. |
| 103963302 | over 4 years ago | Hello, it is indeed a very exceptional sea border in the middle of the Marmara Sea. Each country has territorial waters that extend 12 nautical miles from its coast. There are a few countries that only apply 6nm for their territorial waters (e.g. Greece and Turkey in the Aegean Sea, this is not properly mapped in OSM yet) and some even apply only 3nm (e.g. Gibraltar and Greenland). Countries may declare their bays as internal waters by drawing a baseline from one cape to another, e.g. Italy's Gulf of Taranto. Normally, this could be done for the Sea of Marmara as well, but I haven't found anything about it, maybe due to the fact that it is a major international seaway (the only access to the Atlantic Ocean for countries like Romania, Ukraine or Georgia). A good source for territorial sea boundaries is https://www.marineregions.org/eezmapper.php, from where I took these boundaries. |
| 104075106 | over 4 years ago | Hello Tomas. Having three Gudžiūnai in a distance of 2km is a bit weird though, even if it is official. The official name of the village at the railway station is Gudžiūnų Geležinkelio Stotis, as seen in the place name-sign (see here at mapillary: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?mapStyle=OpenStreetMap&lat=55.52382816107075&lng=23.797414847826758&z=17&pKey=wvskl2mPqT4AjQv8x0LlzA&x=0.022600091540657452&y=0.5553805096578146&zoom=1.488861809013314&focus=photo) |
| 99314301 | almost 5 years ago | Auf https://anachb.vor.at/ verläuft die Route derzeit übrigens ganzjährig (z.B. Suche für einen Tag im Juli) über die Gatterholzgasse. Liegt vermutlich aber daran, dass hier keine Routenvarianten nach Datum hinterlegt worden sind. |
| 99330628 | almost 5 years ago | Hallo, sorry da hast du recht. Laut WL-Fahrplan vom 3. Sa im Mai bis 2. So im Sep. Laut Routenplaner des VOR jedoch bereits ab 1. Mai (https://anachb.vor.at/). Da der Fahrplan auf wienerlinien.at das letzte Mal am 17.2.2020 aktualisiert wurde, habe ich angenommen, dass anachb.at aktuellere Daten hat (muss aber natürlich nicht sein). |
