Most probably you selected a bunch of buildings and just pressed "q" without checking the results.

May be you like to use the internal validator of JOSM before you upload to avoid such errors:

osm.wiki/JOSM/Validator

An other side effect of your edit is that the shape of the affected buildings no longer matches the reality. This is not only valid for buildings that originally had a circular shape.
