A shop will most likely not sell kids. I found it at the address Avenida Carrera 30, which was wrongly filled in (with the number in the street name field).

bienvenido a osm!
"tienda_para_niño": clothes? toys? shoes?
shop=*

Hi ZachUnger,
Applications will most likely not know what to do with a "cell phone store". I suggest to tag it with "mobile_phone".
Regards.

Ik zie dat je dat niet hebt getekend, excuus. Alle eigenschappen lijken me in orde.

"maybe the best way to find out what the mapper intended is to actually ask them?"

The name is "The Tanning Room" and the type was "Tanning." There was no reason to doubt the intention.

Whenever I add data to OSM it is no longer my data. Anyone can change it, add data to it or even remove it when the object no longer exists. I really hope that mappers will do this in a constructive manner but that is primarily their responsibility.

I understand what you say but it only takes away the fun of contributing to osm. Also I dind't expect to get involved in such a long discussion over something that looks like a minor detail to me. And I really don't understand the purpose of so many different tags that mean the same. And if they don't mean the same than the confusion is even larger. A database is supposed to be functional and not the collection of personal leanings. I wanted to continue with my hometown but I noticed that I can't do that anymore.

The 'normal' tagging scheme is shop=beauty and beauty=tanning. If this is expressed like shop=tanning than this can only mean that the tanning is unrelated to beauty. If this is not what the mapper intended than it is a mistake to tag it in that way. I just tried to help the mapper.

The fix was not made because of a typing error but because the tagging scheme seemed inappropriate to me. I tried to do a good thing and I am still flabbbergasted about the reaction.

Good question. I hope that this link works: way/90969965#map=19/50.90087/7.02931

Can you please explain why you invent tags for yourself with capitals, add a 'shop' without address, website or what so ever and then start to complain about so-called mechanical edits? My tagging is according to the wiki and the rules that are set out in there and I find your behaviour quite worrying. If you think that I am wrong about this than please elaborate because I am still convinced of the opposite.
Regards.

The hearing_aids and the optician have been entered twice, both on the nodes and on the building.

It looks as if the shop type " funeral_directors" was mistakenly replaced with the number 90969868. Is it still a shop?

Kun je misschien iets specifieker zijn dan "shop=j" bij het Esso tankstation? Mvgr.

53685819 about 8 years ago

Hi loewenzahn,
Some data for your shop has been entered twice, both on the building and on the node. One time should be enough! I added the website and also the name of the road in front of the shop. You can change this if you think it's incorrect (I don't have local knowledge). Btw, many mappers place the node of the shop freestanding inside the building which makes editing easier.
Regards.

I understood very well what you wrote. Regards!

A fix would indeed be impossible. The data may contain personal names so it should be removed completely without leaving a trace.
