The bridge is currently not accessible (neither for pedestrians - gate and sign that entering the bridge ist prohibited) seemingly due to static (structural engineering) problems. In my opinion the closure has been established several month ago. But the signs for the cycle path are still in place.
Alternativle follow the St Jaques trail to the road bridge of the D87 and then back to the .botanical garden

Tjis bridge (weir) is closed for 13 years idicated by an official sign that the municipality of Mimizan closed the the transition in 2005.
