Okay, I removed them all

The correct way to do it is to double click on the place where the surface changes to create a new point on the road, and then select that point and press X. That will split the road into two parts, and then you tag the correct surface on each part.

Hi there,

All of your recent changesets will need to be fixed, you appear to have created new roads on top of existing roads, rather than editing the tags of the original roads. Would you like to take care of that, or do you want me to delete the roads in bulk first and then you can go back through and add the surface tags to the already existing roads?

Hi there,

I reverted this in changeset/150629367#map=16/42.7280/-84.5494, you deleted the highway tag, which broke routing, and you also moved this tree https://pewu.github.io/osm-history/#/node/5756855609 a long way away, which looked accidental. I'm not exactly sure what you were trying to do, but removing highway tags is almost never the correct thing to do, so please be careful next time, thanks!

Probably, as far as i know tesla uses several different sources. They do use the Valhalla routing engine for some stuff, when i tested that, it also correctly routes to the driveway (https://valhalla.openstreetmap.de/directions?profile=pedestrian&wps=-83.97017955780031%2C42.55244801301115%2C-83.89235258102418%2C42.51246727052624, the car profile also works but you need to disable the "exclude unpaved roads" setting first), so they are probably using something else.

Hi there,

What application are you using for directions? I just tested with OsmAnd and Organic Maps and they route to the driveway correctly

Hi there,

Regarding this and your last changeset, are there actually separate places called "Downtown Dearborn" and "Downtown Plymouth"? the city/township boundaries are already mapped: Dearborn (relation/134579), plymouth (relation/135061) and plymouth charter township (relation/135257), so i don't think your additions can be tagged as cities. If you could explain a bit more about what these are, we can try to figure out if/how they should be tagged

Sorry for the late response, and thanks for the explanation, it makes more sense now

Also yeah, the average in the US currently is about 1 mapper per 5,000 square miles, and outside of major cities it's probably 1 mapper per 8-10k square miles, so there's a lot of places where there's only one mapper, sadly

I think people are using osm.wiki/Proposal:Tag:footway%3Dlink for that

Hi there,

I'm not sure that node/126424942 is a crossing, because it doesn't cross anything. I see there's several like this around the area in recent days, could you maybe explain a bit more about why you think these are crossings?

Hi there,

Thanks for the edits! One thing to note, the surface tag should only be one word. I've fixed it for you, but in the future the correct thing to do there is to split the road where it goes from asphalt to dirt, and add the correct surfaces to the two halves. Hope this helps!

Hi there,

Roads like way/830222572#map=19/44.26648/-105.45795 don't seem to fit the definition of unclassified, could you explain a bit why you decided to change them all?

Hi there,

Did you mean to add the tag "CR 309=no" to way/9861481 and way/9859144#map=16/44.8411/-96.5615?

Hello,

I've removed these roads as they were already existing. In the future, if roads already exist, please edit them instead of drawing new ones, thanks!

Hi there,

Could you explain a little more about what way/1270147892 is? Right now nothing can use or render it because there's no tags for it

Hi there,

Looks like you might have broken this relation: relation/195213

Could you take a look? Thanks!
