almost 11 years ago | when you say the source here is "Street view", do you mean Google Street View?
almost 11 years ago | The issue is that the changesets don't mention this- they just say "inspiration :)" as a source. National boundaries are sensitive objects and people can be upset when they're modified. The issue is (as it always has been) that if there's a process to correct them that it should be explained on the relevant changesets.
almost 11 years ago | @Nankaner - I can assure you that both SomeoneElse and woodpeck were consulted before the 0-hour block was placed.
almost 11 years ago | As jremillard said, all import must be vetted by the community according to the import process. I'm reverting this import now.
almost 11 years ago | Also, which objects came from direct observation and which came from Google?
almost 11 years ago | Can you prove that? If so, we can complain to them about it.
almost 11 years ago | I need to step in here and say that while I'm glad that the tempers have been calmed, that trolling and name calling are really inappropriate behavior, on everyone's part. Please try to keep the comments relevant and reduce the pointing and name calling to a minimum.
almost 11 years ago | I realize you're new, but I need to tell you that Google Street View is explicitly not allowed to be used as a source for data. It's against their terms and license. Fortunately there's a project that's similar to Google Street View called Mapillary that allows us to use their data in this way, and you can even make your own street view data from it and use that.
almost 11 years ago | Gerald, I was asked to intervene on this on behalf of the DWG, and I have read many of the changeset comments. At the same time, regarding *your* change- this is not a fence.
almost 11 years ago | Gerald, the problem is it's not a fence, so just reverting isn't the right thing to do.
almost 11 years ago | This is the same issue as before. If you're fixing broken relations- that's great, but please explain that. If you're modifying the boundaries to make them correct, please explain that.
almost 11 years ago | Hi, Wecome to OSM. You're making a ton of edits to OSM. What's the source of all these stores?
| 28990165 | almost 11 years ago | I said that you're removing the tags- which is exactly what you said you're doing. If you want to look at the indoor mapping pages, you might find something that works for you:
I have no idea what that stadium has internally, but if they're walls, why not call them walls? Or were you indicating the lines on the roof? |
almost 11 years ago | I see two issues here: First, you are removing the tags on the ways, rather than replacing them with something else. Secondly, you are not using changeset comments. Please use changset comments on your changesets:
almost 11 years ago | You're making a lot of edits with a source of "inspiration"- is that your only source?
almost 11 years ago | This is a pretty huge changeset- with hundreds of objects. Can you say a bit more about what you were doing?
almost 11 years ago | Congrats on your first edit to OSM! Looks great!
almost 11 years ago | Congratulations on your first edits to OSM!
almost 11 years ago | Eurgene, You're making huge numbers of massive changes. Please make meaningful changeset comments on these changes so that others can follow what you're doing.
almost 11 years ago | peace2, You keep making these large changesets with very obscure changeset comments? Can you please try to make more descriptive comments of what you're changing and why?
