Hallo Lezurex,

dikkeknodel

Hi ydrgbjo,
To my opinion the tagging of SelfishSeahorse is much more accurate than amenity=fountain. From the photograph it is clear that this is a playground and it is a toy for kids to play with. The argument you make about 'inexistant qualifier' is not very strong, because from that perspective there would not have been an OpenStreetMap in the first place. At the start of OSM there were no tags defined, so without defining new tags mapping could have never started. And still n a daily basis new tags are defined.
Your change actually looks more like tagging for the renderer [1], because it seems you don't want to loose that frountain pictogram from the map.

Cheers,
dikkeknodel

Alta Via della Valle d'Aosta n. 1 route relation I mean... Strada Regionale 46 was only touched because a highway required splitting for the Alta Via.

Hallo BAK365,

Hi Rogier,
A track is a highway mainly established for agricultural or forestry. I see further south that it's mapped as cycleway. See the different types of highway here:
highway=*
Based on what fits best to the actual road you can choose an option.
Each road type has its default acces rights, which you find here:
osm.wiki/OSM_tags_for_routing/Access-Restrictions#Switzerland
----------
The tracktype tag gives information about the type of track and is thus only relevant if the highway is tagged as track. This tag does not say anything about the type or smoothness of the surface:
tracktype=*
--------------
There is a separate smoothness=* and surface=* tag for that.
surface=*
smoothness=*
-----
I hope this helps.

Hi Rogier,
Thanks for contributing to OpenStreetMap in Switzerland.
The tag bicycle=yes is redundant on a highway=tertiary since that highway type already implies access right for bicycles.
I can hardly imagine a Garmin does not understand that. But if it's that stupid, the solution is not to tag all highway=tertiary roads with a bicycle=yes, but to get Garmin to make a better device.
Although it does no harm adding this tag, I consider this tagging for the renderer, which is what we try to avoid. Also see the wiki for more details:

Hallo asdf2,

Hi Ninovui,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap. Updating an outdated Bus stop name can help a lot to find the bus schedule :-).
I noticed there was a typical error that often happens when using the MAPS.ME application to update a name.
Names can be added 'native language' of the place and in multiple (potentially foreign) languages. MAPS.ME typically only shows the latter because it's often foreigners that add names in their personal language to existing POI.
However, in this case the bus stop name has change, which should be in the local or native language.
In general the 'name' tag is shown to all others except people with a language preference in french.
What happened here is that you added the new name in the 'name:fr' tag, while the outdated name still remained in the 'name' tag.
I've already corrected in:

You're welcome!
Actually I also learned a new word from you. I only knew Neophyte as a Dutch Hardcore music group in the 90's :-).

Now I realise that it actually has a meaning. Thanks!
Cheers,

P.S. I do not advice listening to their music though, it's from a dark past....

Hi Patric,
I think your change is not completely as you want it to be. The name and name:de tags differ and the place is still tagged as a hairdresser, although you linked to the website of a shop for prescription glasses.

Please have a look.

Hi Martin,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap, the shared effort to make the best map of the world. I noticed you added a wilderness hut with in the name Hôtel. Since a wilderness hut is typically unmanned, while a hotel is not, it attracted my attention. See:
tourism=wilderness_hut
I also see that there is a Alpine hut with the same name on the map just 200 m to the north east:
node/4451360558
Might these two actually be the same thing? If yes, which position and tagging is the most accurate?

Oh btw, my apologies for writing in English. As an original Dutchie now living in Zürich, French is not really my strongest feature...

Hi Adalhelm,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap and thank you for contributing to this shared effort in Switzerland.
Since you tickmarked for a review I have looked at your changes. I think you did a good job continuing the road. It's not really well visible on the imagery so that is probably why it was still missing and why contributions from people with local knowledge are so valuable.
I also noticed you aligned the buildings. Please be aware that the satelite imagery is not always perfectly aligned (especially in the mountains it's dramatic because of perspective issues). I don't say anything is wrong here, just that you should be aware. A method to overcome this is making a gpx trace while wandering the area and using that to correct the imagery. Although the gps doesn't have decimeter accuracy either, it is often much better than the alignment of the imagery in the +/- 5m range if I'm not mistaken.
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi Gykon,
I noticed you also removed the building=yes tag here. But you also ( I guess accidentally) moved a node at another place of the map which sort of messed up a road. That probably happened while browsing through the map.
You can see it clearly in the top right on Achavi:
https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=60875843
The red line is the original position, the long green diagonal line is you accidental move :-).

Since the correction may be a bit difficult I already restored the data myself with changeset/60905519

Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi Gykon,
I also had a look at this change.
I noticed you removed the building=yes tag, which I think is a mistake because it would mean the restaurant you added is no longer in a building.
If you want to separate the building from the restaurant you could choose to map the restaurant as a separate Node. This is especially relevant if there are more things in the same building.
Please have a look at the tagging.
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi Gykon,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap. Since you asked for a review (or forgot to remove the tickmark :-P) I had a look at you change.
I think you did a great job.
Keep up the happy mapping!

May abandoned:man_made=reservoir_covered be appropriate?
