Hi smaprs,
I'm currently working on the #hotosm-project-3702 for Angola. I noticed you added a smoothness and 4wd_only tags to a highway that you have sourced from Mapbox and Bing imagery (way/360405842). I have a few questions about this.
Firstly, I wonder how you can decide on these values, based on not that high imagery resolution.
Secondly, you have set smoothness=bad, which according to the smoothness wiki page means that it is accesible by normal car with robust wheels, while you also set 4wd_only=yes. This seems contradicting.
To my opinion these values can not be set based on imagery only.

Hallo piecepaper,

Groetjes,
Raymond

Hi Andreas,
I would have expected a stairway at least in your first changeset with this comment, but it is actually not there. Very helpful indeed.
Last year it has been pointed out to you that path numbers should only be in the ref tag in Italy, see:
changeset/51600778
changeset/51600823
Could you please stop tagging for the renderer?

Hi Andreas,
There seem to be many stairways in Kafue National Park, when I look at your recent changesets. Could you please help the community in understanding what you are contributing by using informative changeset comments?
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hello Andreas,
I see you changed way/362740738 from track to service. A service road is a road that gives access to some service on for example an industrial estate, which is not obvious here. Why do you consider this a service road? Additionally, you tagged a lot of highways with name=4x4. I cannot imagine that a lot of roads in this area actually have this as their streetname, but can imagine that they may only be accessible by a 4x4 car. If the latter is the case, you should consider using the 4wd_only tag, see 4wd_only=*.
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi NoelB,
You did a nice multipolygon for the wetlands in Angola. You gave it the tag wetland=swamp, which may not be the correct one if you follow wetland=*. A swamp would be forested, and I think the vegetation seen from bing at this location is not trees, but smaller plants. Do you agree that wetland=marsh may be the better tag?

Description and source are accidentally incorrect.
Decription: split Letzigraben, because only a tiny section of this street should be part of relation rcn 84, removed other sections from the relation.

Hi Warren,
Thank you for participating in OpenStreetMap. I see you added a museum, but did not specify this in the changeset comment. Since the change to the map is only small now it is pretty obvious what you did, but this would not be so obvious when you would have changed a lot. Other mappers need to now what has happened to map features, and clear changeset comments really help there, so please keep that in mind for your next mapping ventures.

I was wondering about the Napoleon Museum node you added. The building inside which you placed the node (way/204686300) also has a tourism=museum tag, but lacks the name Napoleon museum. Are there two different museums within this building, or do we have two tags for one museum now?
It is also valuable to add other relevant information about features on the map, for museum see this page: tourism=museum.

I wish you happy mapping.

Hi Thibault,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap by adding Points of interest.

I notice you added changes that are quite far apart, Uganda and Northern Ireland. I would suggest using multiple changesets for this, because this is clearer to other mappers reviewing changesets.

Hi Antonine,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap by adding restaurants in the Netherlands and Cyprus. I think I once made Hemelse Modder myself in the past :-).
Although I also make the mistake it gives better overview if you only add items together in one changeset that are geographically near. This helps other mappers who see your changeset making sense of what changed.

You must be kidding here. First of all, the Tugela Falls are not visible from this spot. Secondly, there is definitely not an erotic shop in this gorge. How did you come up with this?
