Hi Alex,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap.
I am contacting you (from Switzerland) because I noticed you added a bar in Geneva which according to you only has an English name (name:en tag) and an Russian name (name:ru tag), but no name in the local language (name and name:fr tags).
When I look at further edits in this changeset I see a similar pattern. To my opinion a local name is always required, the name like it is on the building (whatever the actual language is). Without local name it is pretty imperialistic towards the local community in my humble opinion.
Additionally, the zipline you have added was already on the map two weeks ago: node/5724789021.
Please also add local names to your contribution.
Keep up the happy mapping!
Cheers,
dikkeknodel

Hi domob,
Nice detailing you did in the Sihlwald! I enjoy the level of detail, like you added the name to guidepost Besucherszentrum. I had seen that one in the past (last summer if I remember correctly), but it apparently slipped my mind to actually add it. I work a lot on the hiking and cycling route relations for mainly Switzerland, hence my interest.
Are you familiar with route relations and their implementation on waymarkedtrails.org?
-----
I noticed you extended a track that is used in a hiking route relation from Sihlwald to Tannboden in this changeset and in 60580082:
way/33926816
When extending a way all of its properties are also extended, so also the membership of a route relation.
The result can be viewed here: https://hiking.waymarkedtrails.org/#route?id=124455. The southeastern leg is the track you extended but which is actually not part of the route. To overcome this problem the track should be split where the route diverges.
-----
Im am well aware that it is easily missed, therefor I would like to share this knowledge with you. I suppose I still missed a few myself in the past.
If you are interested in hiking routes as well, I can advice the JOSM drawing style 'OSMC hiking' which comfortably visualises the hiking routes with parallel coloured lines. But that still leaves the risk of accidentally changing other route relations, like cycle or bus, so caution remain necessary.
-----
I will correct this in the near future, just giving you some time to see what happened. Or if you wish you can off course correct it yourself.
-----
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hallo hecktor,
osmc:symbol=yellow::yellow_diamond
symbol=weiss-rot-weiss

Hallo Judith12,
highway=path
bicycle=no

Hi Remo,
Thanks for the quick reply. I understand your story, and think there is no copyright problem in that case (as far as I can judge).
-----
I still have some questions about the content though.
------
I notice there already was a highway=service drawn at the exact place where you have drawn the Dorfplatz. See: way/40793089.
Obviously there can only be one road at the same place (unless the other is a bridge and has the respective tagging, which is unlikely here :-P). So you better would have just added the name=Dorfplatz tag to this existing way. Please correct this and remove the new way you added.
-----
From the umbrellas visible on Esri Imagery in front of Café Restaurant zumStein I expect this way is actually a pedestrian area with outdoor seating, especially since Dorfplatz literally means 'village square'. It would then make sense to tag it highway=pedestrian instead of 'service' or 'residential'.
-----
A general remark since you are new and seem to do this as part of your profession. I would highly recommend to follow the walkthrough for iD editor so you get a better idea of how to edit OpenStreetMap and follow the conventions. You can start the walkthrough with the question mark (?) on the right hand side when you are in editing mode.
Also there is a lot of information on wiki.openstreetmap.org which is helpful to make your edits better.

Hi Yook Yook Wanda,
You asked for a review, hence I'm looking at your changes.
You seem to state that you took information from other map services to update OpenStreetMap. Typically there is however copyright on those other services and then this would mean an infringement and thus illigal data.
Please check the following wiki page: osm.wiki/Copyright.
I'm looking forward to your reply.
Kind regards,

Hallo Marc,

Hi shinkansen0,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap. Since you asked for a review I've looked at your changes. I do have some improvement proposals.
-------
1) way/606162682
You've tage this way as amenity=parking, but this tag only makes sense on an node, or an area. I would suggest tagging it as highway=service, service=parking_aisle.
-------
2) You've tagged two nodes as parking
node/5747921921
node/5747921922
I would suggest making an area instead for the complete surface of the parking. It is also very valuable for people using the map to add access restrictions. Since these parkings are near new housing development I can imagine that parking is restricted to inhabitants. In that case tags with access restrictions are valuable.
-----
Have a look at amenity=parking for more info on how to tag parkings.
------
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hallo Mariushlee,

Hi Santiago,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap in Switzerland. I noticed you gave spanish names (name:es) to viewpoints without a local name. Additionally, it seems these spanish names are actually descriptions of what is visible. If the later is true, please move to description:es tag.

Hi Pascal,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap. I think I noticed a slight mistake since I don't expect a Chalet is in the middle of the road. Could you please check and correct?

Hi Danilo,
I just noticed by coincidence, you added a second Case Cana, the other is 400m northwest and has been there for 8 months longer. I guess one of both has to be a mistaken name.

node/5113086243
I updated that one after a visit, but I did not come up with the name.
