I've made changes in:
changeset/59762903

43447008 over 7 years ago

One of the only exceptions is the wheelchair=* tag, which is supposed to describe if something is accessible for wheelchair users.

43447008 over 7 years ago

Hi Haack70,
The tags foot=*, bicycle=*, horse=* etc. should be used for legal acces restrictions, not for suitability to use them. See the following wiki page:
access=*
There are different tags to be used for suitability. Horse riding suitability can be entered with horse_scale=*, you can read more on:
osm.wiki/Riding#horse_scale_describing_the_difficulty_of_the_way
Hiking difficulty uses sac_scale=*, Mountain bike difficulty uses mtb:scale=*
Keep up the happy mapping :-).

Hi Fabrice,
Thank you for the clarification. I've put that info into the node for other mappers that may have the same question:

Hi Böckli,

You changed the addr:street tag for one of the buildings, but not the neighbouring buildings. Should their streetname also be changed?

Hi Fabrice,
I noticed you added a viewpoint. Thank you for adding info to OpenStreetMap.
You've added the name 1056m, this seems to be the elevation of the viewpoint, is that correct? There is a special tag for elevation, that would be ele=1056.
Do you agree that 1056 is not the name of the point, but the elevation?
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi 勝井美弥子
You have placed a restaurant a a place where there is a parking lot. I guess this is a mistake.

I did a search for il Ghiotto and it seems to be located in Rue Cité-Devant number 6, close to where you put the marker. At this place there is currently already a restaurant tagged. Their website does not work anymore.
I've have made corrections and additions in the following changeset:

Hi Haack70,
I'm contacting you about the following feature that you introduced with this changeset: way/451757219
You have entered access restrictions for ski, snowmobile and horse. I wonder what you source for these restrictions is, since there are no additional restrictions posted on location. So to my opinion the same restrictions apply as the cycling path to which this path should have been connected.
Can you elaborate on that?
Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi Alex,
The changeset looks good. I missed in the previous changeset that you did not delete the whole node, but did that here.

Hi melay,
You asked for a review of this changeset.
I think you did a good job in changing the opening times to match the syntax. Thanks for helping out.
Keep up the happy mapping.

Hallo Simi,

Hi Bollizh,
Since you flagged this as review_requested, I'll continue the conversation in this changeset.
I think you did a great job in clarifying the fort, you even defined the different types of bunkers! I don't even have a clue how to distinguish :-). Also it is good that you added the information board. I just have one remark, the board_type=information does not really give any more info, I would advise to change it to board_type=history.
Keep up the great work!

Hi Peter,
Thanks for clearing up this issue :-). My apologies for being thorough in digging up the past, I am typically interested in the history of things and sensitive to keeping OSM as clear as possible from copyright violations.

I keep bothering you ;-). I also changed the website tag, since there is a specific tag for wikipedia. The website tag would be used for the website of the operator of the feature. Maybe that would be http://www.festungen-zh.ch/joomla/index.php?

Hi Bollizh,
Here I am again :-). The tourism=attraction tag is relevant. I would advise to use this tag only once, at one of the bunkers or the visitor center if that exists. I read that guided tours are available, so the place where they can be started would be good to mark with tourism=attraction.
I also notices some typical MAPS.me name mistakes, which are corrected in changeset/59631164.
Keep up the ahppy mapping!

Or if you don't want to engage this deeply into OSM, I can do the change for you.

59509515 over 7 years ago

I see you've added some additional information on the names. Unfortunately MAPS.me always does weird things with the name tags that exist for multiple languages. For example, there are now the following tags:
name=Bunker
name:de=Festung Ebersberg A539
If you follow the convention, the name-tag should have the default language of the location, so German too. This is for the data users to have a choice between having local names, or translations.
I've corrected these issues in:
changeset/59630643
If I understand you correctly, the places you marked here are the actual bunkers, not a memorial (typically erected for remembrance only, which a bunker is clearly not). I haven't made the change, because I don't now this place. But by interpretation I think that the following tags are relevant:
military=bunker to mark that this is the actual bunker
historic=yes to mark that it is not in active use
Please have a look at the wiki to inform yourself :-)
osm.wiki/Tag%3Ahistoric%3Dmemorial
military=bunker

Keep up the happy mapping!

Hi Bollizh,
Thanks for getting back quickly.
Have a look on the OpenStreetMap wiki, where conventions for mapping most stuff you encounter in the field are documented.
For military stuff the following page would be a starting place:
osm.wiki/Military
Sticking to these conventions actually helps maps users to find items of their interest. Maps.me does not fully support the editors with information on the usage of certain tags.
