Hi Skyper,
We have taken the initiative of conducting a second audit based on the suggestions you have provided across all the changesets. We have updated the timeline in the changeset changeset/129308457.
We have identified errors which were missed by newly onboarded reviewers from December-2022. However, as suggested by you we will consider auditing all the tasks edited from October-2022 till date.
Please feel free to add suggestions if any. Thank you for your support.

Hi Skyper,

We have conducted a preliminary investigation into “Added Directions” changesets as per your request. We have identified errors which were missed by newly onboarded reviewers from December-2022.
As a remedy, we will conduct a second review of all the 1296 change sets created between Decemeber-2022 to till date by our experienced reviewers and fix errors.
We will update you once the audit is done (ETA: 4/3/22).
Additionally, we will re-train the reviewers who failed to identify errors to provide feedback to editors and to correct erroneous map edits.
Our review team uses combination of OSMCha and our internal tool to conduct reviews for 100% of changesets created by editors. Reviewers have options to either “approve” or “sendback” changesets. Changesets that are marked as “sendback” will go back to editors for second round of editing to correct errors. However, in this instance, few of the newly onboarded reviewers overlooked the errors committed by the editors.
We will ensure to capture all the errors created and retrain the team on the guidelines/etiquettes to be followed while editing on OSM.
Appreciate your guidance.

Regards,
Deepikja

Hi Skyper,
Upon checking the history, the initial edit in the changeset/132036902 the editor has added directions based on the lane markings and the keep right sign board seen in the street overlays i.e., mapillary. Please find the link for the same https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=469035110859988&focus=photo&lat=51.513103125665&lng=10.252708839262&z=17
The editor refrained from altering the bus relations due to lack of information, also we do not see any turns being restricted at this location and the road is clearly unidirectional based on the available evidences so the edit was limited to addition of directions.
However, if you have any local information for the additional edits to be done request you to please feel free to let us know and we would make the edits.

Hi Skyper,
We have audited the tasks as mentioned earlier and corrected the errors which were wrong basis the ground reality.
The edit in this task highlighted by you was ambiguous for the editor to make the necessary corrections. This is an honest mistake from the editor. Hence, I have made the necessary modifications in the changeset/133993221.
I would like to assure you that we are working on making alterations to our internal SOP that will assist editors in making valid edits and limit the possibility of improper edits streaming into OSM from our end.

Deepika

Hi Skyper,

Thank you for informing us about this edit. The modifications were reversed in https://osmcha.org/changesets/132336854/.
We advised the editors on the etiquettes to be followed when reversing an improper edit done on the map, as well as instructions on the comments to be made to help any user on osm understand the intent of the edit/modification done. We will make certain that all editors follow this and do not repeat this for any future modifications.

Hi,
Thank you for alerting us regarding this edit. This is a completely wrong alteration made by the editor, which was also missed by our internal reviewer.
I have deleted the directions based on the lane markings seen in mapillary and open street camera as they the signs make it very evident that the road is bi-directional.
I have compiled your comments and have given the editor strict feedback and extra training to guarantee that similar errors do not occur.

Hi,
We apologize for the errors created by these two editors which have flown into OSM due to technical issues. We assure you that we will fix all the service roads entirely surrounded by tracks and restore the previous edits based on latest available imageries.
We are currently re-evaluating every edit made by niskumal and yadavzhi as per your recommendation. We'll make sure the mistakes are fixed by March 18th.

Hi,
Thank you for providing your insights on the usage of service=* tags.
We will incorporate this in our internal centralized wiki to ensure that going forward such edits do not flow from our end.

Hi,
Thank you for writing us. In accordance with the recommendations listed in the OSM wiki, the editor removed service=busway tagging on the segment. The wiki states that we don't have the tag service=busway. The attribute bus=yes has already been tagged on the road indicating the road to be accessible by buses and the tag busway=* denotes the presence of at least one bus lane on one or more sides of the road. Please feel free to add your recommendations.

Our internal centralized wiki page containing the SOP procedures we use to make edits adheres to the guidelines mentioned in the OSM wiki pages.

Hi Skyper,
We do have a central wiki page where we have a clear description of the work we are doing in OSM, but we do not have a separate wiki page for "added direction" tasks.
We are adding roads, one-way directions, access restrictions based on driver feedback, we have clearly mentioned it in the wiki page.
However, we are deeply sorry for this instance, our editor confused Wasgaustraße for dual-carriageway and added directions based on driving rule. In the process, she failed to notice the “oneway=no” tag to the road.
Unfortunately, this was also overlooked by our internal reviewer. We will train editors and reviewers on "oneway=no" tags as a process learning exercise to prevent such mistakes in the future.
Coming to the announcement to the local communities, we are doing the above-mentioned edits in the US, UK and DE regions from 2019, announced it in wiki pages and interacted with community on multiple fronts including dairy posts.
Thanks,
Regards,
Deepika

Hi Skyper,
Thank you for highlighting the issue and sharing your insights.
There appears to be a knowledge gap with the editor which resulted in this error, we will educate our team on this and ensure this doesn’t get repeated.
We've collated your inputs based on the comments you have provided on the changesets and amended our SOP accordingly to avoid future misses.
On the other changesets, I've also implemented the changes you recommended and will continue to validate the remaining edits.
Please let me know if there are any other changes or revisions that need to be made so that we can correct them asap.
Appreciate the support
