The Footway stops here going West. It is no longer possible to get to the D288 as indicated (ditch full of brambles at least 1,5m high). This map from the local town, Pacé, shows the situation: there used to be a connection to complete what is now shown as "ancien circuit" (old circuit) in the bottom right (https://www.ville-pace.fr/upload/espace/1/media/environnement/cadre_vie/circuit_randonnee/2020/moulin_corrige.png). Local people and other sources concur that the path was abandoned because it forced walkers to cross the D288, which is too dangerous (I can confirm this from personal experience).
