I spent about an hour bushwhacking around looking for this crazy 'shortcut' route. It does not exist, or its just some line drawn to show you can bushwhack there. I travel around here all the time, and bushwhacking would definitely be much slower.

Inferred route up Putnik from lower trail near Forks camp. I have no GPS track because I did not go up this way, but it is the most logical way to connect to the proper ridge from that trail, and it matches the route description.

Added/Updated Mount Putnik Route based on recent trip and GPS track.
