I've changed the ref on that postbox to have a D

112424817 about 4 years ago

It's come up with someone else too, and I guess add it. It's how it's referenced on the ground, so makes sense to add it like that on here too

Hi, on node/577319858 you added the postcode as CT19 166D
I assume you meant this as the ref, but the ref is already tagged as CT19 166
I think that ref is correct, as the D is some sort of extra code.

I was clearly on a one track mind of postcodes, thanks for spotting and fixing

I've just been using the tile layer so far, but it's not feeling very efficient, so I might see what I can do.
There are probably a very large number of buildings with house numbers with a single point inside them from the NSUL set with a postcode that could be added (with appropriate checks).
I've done a fair few manually near me recently and have also been fixing partial postcodes to full postcodes.

Looks like you had a typo on a number of these, they should have been SW13 8.. not SW13 9..
I've fixed them using the NSUL postcodes layer.

I've been using https://osm.mathmos.net/addresses/pc-errors.html to look for various errors, and that sort of thing would also show up there

Watch out for mistakes in the source data, for this:
way/225733760
there was no space in the postcode, I've fixed it now though

Hi, just wondering what your source was for the postcodes?
It seems that the postcodes you've added don't exist and the data I'm seeing has these as BH21 3RN

I was looking at postcodes and I've changed node/8754412828/ to 14 as it looked like a mistake having a duplicate 16, if that's not right then please check and correct.
Thanks

Using a custom layer in JOSM created by Rob Nickerson:
https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2021-September/027693.html

Which uses this data:
https://geoportal.statistics.gov.uk/datasets/4ee7422138104d568538137dc2d4f1e1/about
which can be used under the OGL (i.e. is compatible with OSM), see the licence info on that page which was prompted by https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/licence_clarification_for_nsul_a

Fair enough

Just wondering what your source on the postcode for this is, data I have suggests that GU51 3LN is the other side of the road and this side is 3LW

111624420 about 4 years ago

No worries
I guess MapRoulette maybe doesn't make it clear enough what's happening
Don't let that put you off helping with the challenge though, there are still loads to go!

In general I think it's best to tag something even if that tagging is tagging an absence.
I have not tagged all religious schools yet, so I assume they are not all done
