cdevers | The Tobin School has been razed, and the area between Concord Avenue and Vassal Lane, bounded by Fresh Pond Parkway & the Massachusetts National Guard site to the west and the houses along Alpine St to the east, is now a giant construction site. This includes the area of the Father Callanan Playground. As of April 2022, the site has been more or less leveled and new construction hasn’t started yet.

cdevers | This historic cemetery is normally locked. The city opens it for docent guided tours a couple times per year, but for the most part, the general public is not allowed to wander around in here. Should these paths be designated as places where foot traffic is allowed?

cdevers | There’s no way for pedestrians to get here, is there? This seems to be on Boston Sand & Gravel property, and the main access point by Bunker Hill Community College has a prominent NO TRESPASSING sign. I don’t think they want random people walking, biking, etc around back here.

cdevers | I’m not sure if this is an OSM problem or not, but I use Wandrer.earth to keep track of where I’ve walked/biked, and some of Mystic Ave southeast of this point is showing up as “untraveled”. From here to Sullivan Square is effectively a highway offramp, and not safe for foot traffic, but some of it appears to be tagged in a way that suggests pedestrian access is allowed, which is really not the case.

cdevers | See note #4291885 — this segment is showing up on Wandrer.earth, which uses OSM data, as it it's accessible to pedestrians, but that really is not the case, and it's unsafe to encourage people to walk here.

cdevers | See note #4291885 (and #4291886) — this segment is showing up on Wandrer.earth, which uses OSM data, as if it's accessible to pedestrians, but that really is not the case, and it's unsafe to encourage people to walk here.

cdevers | There’s no way for pedestrians to get here, is there? This seems to be on Boston Sand & Gravel property (that or railroad property), and the main access point by Bunker Hill Community College has a prominent NO TRESPASSING sign. I don’t think they want random people walking, biking, etc around back here, as it’s right next to active train tracks, there’s often heavy construction vehicles moving around on these service roads, etc.

cdevers | I’m not convinced this segment should exist. I’ve tried walking around here, and it very much feels like the general public is not intended to be back here. I don't remember seeing a “NO TRESPASSING” sign per se, but this is an active rail/industrial yard, and doesn't feel like a place where random people are expected to be wandering around.

cdevers | The segment from here southwest to other corner of this triangle intersection is showing up on wandrer.earth as a bikable segment, but this is the offramp to a divided highway, and there is no sidewalk. no bike lanes, and it's certainly not safe for cyclists to ride here. I have a pretty high tolerance for riding on busy streets, but this one is crazy.
