1. This segment of Broadway is coming out from under the Harvard Science Center underpass, and doesn’t seem to be intended for pedestrian access. There’s fast traffic, and only narrow “emergency” sidewalks.

  2. The northwest end of Morgan Avenue is a construction site, and there is a locked gate at Water Street. This will eventually be a public way, but for now it should be designated as private, because there is no access to this for the general public.

  3. This is effectively a highway offramp, with high speed traffic, and no sidewalks or bike lanes. This is not a safe place for pedestrians or cyclists.

  5. People should not be walking on O'Brien Highway / Rt 28. There are sidewalks on either side. There are also bike lanes, but bikes aren't excluded from the main travel lane. Pedestrians should generally stick to the sidewalks here though.

  6. The Longfellow bridge goes sidewalk / bike lane / car lane / Red Line train tracks, then reverses these. The bike lanes were annotated to imply that walking them isn't disallowed, and I guess that’s strictly true, but people should walk on the sidewalks.

  7. The Community Path bifurcates here. The main path is on the north, closer to Morgan Ave; to the south closer to the building is a pedestrians only sidewalk. Cyclists should stay on the main path.

  8. I hope I did this right. The full length of McGrath/O'Brien Highway (Rt 28), as well as Land Blvd in East Cambridge, is auto-only, no pedestrains. The full length has sidewalks on both sides to walk on. I’m only trying to change pedestrian notation.

  9. I hope I did this right. The roads between Rt 2 at Alewife, Fresh Pond Parkway, Memorial Drive, and Greenough Blvd are all for automobiles only. Most or all of this has parallel sidewalks for pedestrians to use; people should not be walking on these roads

  10. Hope I did this right. A bunch of segments of Route 28 / Fellsway are showing up as “foot: not specified”, suggesting that it _might_ be okay to walk here. This is a bad idea. This multi-lane area is hostile to pedestrians and should all be marked thus.

  11. In the current configuration, people should not be walking on McGrath Highway! This is a high-speed, mostly separated vehicles-only route, and it mostly doesn’t have sidewalks. It should be designated so that people aren't encouraged to walk there.

  12. Pedestrians should generally not be walking on Memorial Drive! There are sidewalks on either side of it for walking. Bikes, on the other hand, aren’t forbidden, even if the riverfront path is much more pleasant to use.

  13. These segments are showing up as walkable, but they very much are not so. They are parallel to sidewalks, and the clear intend is for pedestrians to use them. Sufficiently brave cyclists, on the other hand, *can* ride here, if they’re sufficiently brave.

  14. Bicycles aren't allowed at this cemetery. (I rode through recently, having not seen the signage, and a very polite groundskeeper asked me not to do this.)

  15. This historic cemetery is normally locked. The city opens it for docent guided tours occasionally, but for the most part, the general public is not allowed to wander around in here. Should these paths be designated as places where foot traffic is allowed?

  17. This is a private access path for railroad drawbridge control. The only obvious way to get here is to ignore a giant NO TRESPASSING sign and cut through Boston Sand & Gravel property. This should be marked as restricted access.

  18. This is Boston Sand & Gravel property, the access point for which is under the I-93 viaduct with a giant NO TRESPASSING sign. All streets & paths on this property, bound by I-93, the railroad tracks, and the river, should be designated as resticted.
