Black Stone Kilns Lane is a public footpath, not a road, and is only accessible to pedestrians. Motor vehicles have no legal right to use it, and physically cannot use it anyway as it is too steep and narrow at its northern end.

Also the map shows Black Stone Kilns Lane continuing east and then making a sharp turn to the SW. At this point it is in fact joining up with Tump Lane (which is a byway and open to all traffic)
