| A new mapping start in New Zealand | of course LINZ won't import everything, either, so there's plenty of chance to micromap the parts other maps/data don't reach :) |
|
| A new mapping start in New Zealand | I think the LINZ import is pretty stalled for some reason. My dodgy memory tells me there was either a technical problem or a licensing holdup. |

| Protesters Falls Ride | It's an amazing place and road there. I must get back there with a tent one day soon. I guess now it's mapped that's slightly less appealing, though your photos entice me more. |

| Boondall Survey | I wondered if you hit "send" ahead of time. Waiting for the punchline. Yes, I feel misled and want my money back ;~) |
|
| Brisbane/Springfield: Centenary Highway extension (Springfield to Yamanto) | Phew! I only didn't do this this weekend because, well, I didn't get to it. Would have been a duplicated effort. One weirdity when I checked this road before potentially surveying it was that it had been last edited the day before its grand opening on Sunday 28th June. Do you understand that? |

| Country roads around Lismore | Yeah, it's a nice part of the world. Must be somewhat challenging on a bike. You'll enjoy Nightcap National Park when you get there. Ah, memories from so long ago … |

| Showing my girlfriend how to use OpenStreetMap | +1 Ævar. I want the power of JOSM, but every time I open it, I am filled with resentment that I *need* to figure so much out. I know I could sit down and study it, but should I really have to? My conscience tells my brain not to play along. |

| Aus, QLD - Dalby 99.99% at last | Ah, good to see some rural activity a-happening. My sense is that Australia has a lot of mapping outside the big cities left to do. We've thought about a posse from Brisbane attacking somewhere like Warwick or Toowoomba, but unfortunately Dalby and further are not really practical day trips from the capitals. Thus, your efforts are really valued. |

| Transitory rant | I suspect the ticketing system has GPS because (a) I think I actually heard it; and (b) it somehow has to know which zone the bus is currently in, though it's possible they may be making the drivers hit a counter. In case anyone's bothered by me speaking out of my arse, I won't have to if my elected council will be more transparent about how its tax-funded systems really work. Without that, it's totally my prerogative to postulate. Stopwatch, of course! Much easier. There's me rushing to the higher end gadget solution, when the best tool is on my wrist all the time. Thanks. |
