Changeset When Comment

Hello StephaneP,
I would like you limit your changesets to a smaller region. If you want to delete the "is_in" tag, you could do this per country or region.
If you do this over several continents at once it looks like a mechanical edit for me.

Hello nicolas_bellemans,
welcome to OpenStreetMap.
Please do other OSM contributors a favour and narrow your changesets to a certain region. In this case you added items on three different continents. Normally you only edit items in only one country per changeset. This makes quality assurance a lot easier.

Hello Bence Mélykúti,
it would be better if you first commit the POIs in Freiburg and then on other places.
Changes in several countries at once are not so welcome.
The same is true in changeset/76615128.

Hello James Dovell,
welcome to OSM.
I have an annotation to your commit. Please do other contributors of OSM a favor and upload your changes before you travel to another continent.
In this case the bounding box spans over Africa and Asia though it has nothing to do with it. When you split into two commits, one per region, everything is OK.

Hallo PelzM,
willkommen bei OSM.
Frage: Was heißt denn "übung if hm"?
Aus dem Kommentar sollte ersichtlich sein, was geändert wurde. Siehe osm.wiki/DE:Good_changeset_comments

Hello JACKenY,
welcome to OpenStreetMap.
Please respect a few rules here in the OSM project.
One of them is to change not more than one country per changeset.
As far as I can see the bounding box spans about four continents and a dozen countries.
Additionally you should provide useful changeset comments to give other people an idea of what you have changed. "voila" as a comments isn't really helpful.
Please read through this article: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments
One more tip: Start small and map in your area first. There you can more easily check if a condition is really as it looks on the aerial photo. After a few years there are many places that are no longer up to date.

OK, I have to admit that I wasn't aware that oneway=yes is implied. Again what learned. No offense.
But as it's not wrong to add it, Osmose would be wrong if it reports an error for this case.

Hello Ferdinand0101,
If you're using Osmose you should follow the same rules as when using iD or any other editor. Stay at a region and don't run around half the world.
Secondly referring to the roundabout you changed in Ireland: Why you removed the one-way? I haven't heard about a roundabout where you can go both directions. So please correct this error.

Hello Ferdinand0101,
I'm not sure how this is handled in other countries in OSM but as far as I know you should avoid abbreviations.
See this Wiki article: osm.wiki/Names#Abbreviation_.28don.27t_do_it.29
So I think you should revert your change.

Hello hjasuer,
I haven't been on this island, yet but what you entered as "name=" is surely not the real name. This is more like a description.
Additionally in a foreign country you should use the local language for the "name=" tag. Otherwise you should use a language suffix like "name:de=" or "description:de=" if you don't know how to write in the local language.
Third: you always should give a short summary about what you've changed. E.g. in this case: added a bakery.

I have only check a handful items from the list. But what I can say if the linked Wikipedia article refers not to the OSM item itself but to a brand or a company related to the item this was mostly not respected during the edit. So I also would treat this as a mechanical edit. I only saw two items that I've checked where this already has been fixed. But I think there are many where this still has to be done.

Hello Drainx,
welcome to OSM.
To give other people an idea of what you have changed or added you should provide a short explanation about it. This applies whatever device or software you're using.

Hello RudolpheDeer,
you changed a lot of embassies in recent time. That's OK in principle.
But you should not edit them over more than one continent. For the sake of clarity, I would group these changes by country or capital.
Additionally you deleted a couple of items where it is not clear to me if this was done in error or with good cause.
As you only specified Bing as your source I assume you haven't checked further before committing your changes.
Please explain your sources.

Hello fenrisster,
did you survey all items you changed locally at site or what is the source for your changes?

Hallo waidu,
was stellt das "Wirtschaftskolloquium Oberbayern" dar?

Hello pyrog,
if you find objects with the same kind of problem in different regions please do a favour to all OSM contributors to split these changes per region. Combining Europe, Africa and parts of Asia is too much in my Opinion. You could split it at least per continent.

Hello Toni,
yes I already recognized that these were really old nodes but I haven't seen where they originated.
@hasaan22
As Josm revision 14460 is about 11 months old you should consider to update Josm and all your plugins as many bugs have been fixed in the mean time.

Hello LanovkarJ,
welcome to OSM.
Some things that are not so good with this changeset:
* You edited more than one continent at once. Mostly you should limit this to one country per changeset.
* If you delete something that was previously existing you should provide an explanation about it. E.g. Object was razed or replaced by sth. else. Via this it's easier to verify that sth. wasn't deleted by error.
* I would encourage you to use the so called life cycle prefixes. Through this a removed object could be reintroduced into OSM if it is rebuilt at a later time. See osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix
* Your comment "Small changes" doesn't really help. As the bounding box is several thousand kilometers wide and you changed 98 objects, I wouldn't name it a small changeset.

Please have a look at this Wiki article. There are some explanations about what I mean: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments
