There is such thing, but it’s undeveloped, missing a lot of data and published as a set of pdf files. Discussed here: http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=6151 Liosha parses it into csv files, which he published in the same forum topic. The latest file is http://data.gis-lab.ru/mp/gkgn_v8.zip (a month old).

The authority that publishes geodata is Rosreestr, and in recent months it is considering licensing terms for their data, and I hope they’re considering opening some of it. We (osm and gis-lab) have been talking to them for a long time, but governmental organizations in Russia are very hard to work with: they cannot make any hard decisions.

Я не понимаю, что значит основываться на информационной пустоте, чем собирать новости из сотни источников отличается от работы обычной новостной ленты (вроде ленты.ру), и почему местные новости менее важны, чем глобальные.

Из крупного – в ИПД РФ вошёл реестр названий (виден на портале), AMDmi3 взялся за поддержку osm2go (для meego), я написал на хабр статью, крепко засевшую в “лучших дня” и недели, украинцы обсуждают место статусных частей улиц, ГИС-Лаб опубликовал открытые данные по Москве в удобочитаемом виде, Александр Зейналов сделал отличную презентацию на уральской конференции, для андроида появилась игра “найди город” на основе OSM.

Сколько из этих тем всплыло на форуме?

Я могу ответить только на первое. Информационный шум смешно противопоставлять информационной пустоте. Так можно сказать, что этой пустоты нет в няк и викимапии. У форума нет памяти, нет связи с источниками на других языках, и там обсуждаются только сиюминутные вопросы. Ты не узнаешь, зайдя на форум, что произошло в OSM сегодня, или на этой неделе – только какие вопросы появились у участников, при почти всегда – без конкретных ответов. Коммуникация и информационная насыщенность никак не связаны.

Karlos, I don’t intend to generate wiki pages, but to create an independent infrastructure. Because otherwise I’m just duplicating both data and problems of wiki, and there’s no point to it.

Openstreetmap.ru POI database is restricted to Russia and Ukraine at the moment, and as far as I know there are no plans to extend coverage. But sources are open, and anyone can install their local POI database.

The plan is to build a separate site with that schema, populate it using OSM users (no automatic parsing) and make it the alternative to “Howto map a” and “Map features” wiki page. That would solve most of current wiki problems and allow generation of presets for editors and directories for POI visualizers.

Hi! I’ve checked your project (not on a tablet, but still), and it it very great. Please keep working on it. I’d like to see an ability to create multiple objects and to zoom in and out and pan work area, for a start. Magnifier is an excellent idea.

So it doesn’t support moving imagery layer yet? (like space+drag in potlatch)
