Hi Pitner,
Welcome back to OSM!
OSM defines parks as "an area of open space for recreational use" but you've got this park running over houses, farmland, Rice Lake and other features. Are you sure park is the best tag for this entire area?

Hi Bubslecubs,

Welcome to OSM and thanks for your first edit!

Gardner Village is already on the map, here: way/720274212

Generally, we operate on a rule of "one feature, one OSM element", you can read more here: osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

Hi weijielim,

Welcome to OSM and thank you for your contribution!

Are you sure leisure=park is the best tag for this area? At a glance, it looks like natural=wood may be a better fit.

Hi Jared,

Welcome to OSM!

In this edit, you pulled one of the nodes in the adjacent parking lot into the park you added. Now the two features intersect each other.

I also can't find any information that verifies your edit - what is your source? The buildings and park don't appear on Bing Aerial Imagery (which your changeset lists as the imagery you used) and I've been unable to find any reference to a Sherman Park in Johnson City.

Some of your other changesets also have comments, so you might want to check those out.

Please reach out if you need any help!

Thanks Warin, you're the M.V.P.

Hi Rubberfisto,

We define parks in a particular way on OSM, the recent parks you have added do not meet that definition as they appear to be buildings. You can check the wiki for more info about how to mark parks on OSM. leisure=park

Hi chachafish,
Thanks for the info - I've often struggled with the best way to do this as the application seems really inconsistent globally and the wiki isn't really that clear on the matter, especially in the US with it comes to places like this - and even more so when the signage and branding includes "So-and-so Campus".
I'll keep this in mind for future edits, thanks again!

Hi Fatalferret,
Welcome to OSM!
You've added a park over what appears to be a house. Are you sure that you've got it in the right place?

Hi Adam,
It looks like you changed the entirety of this very large relation area: relation/1388318/
from woods into a campsite. Was that intentional?

Looks like a lot of the scrappy areas here were removed in the following recent changeset: changeset/84301393
Will have to see how this pans out over the coming weeks.

Hi Robbie,
You deleted a lot of buildings in Kooindah Waters - have they all been demolished?

This is an interesting changeset to say the least - you never responded to SomeoneElse's question the last time you did this:

Hi Rick!

Welcome to OSM!

I noticed you added a boat launch in this edit, which is great - valuable information for the map, but we typically use leisure=slipway for features like this rather than leisure=park.

You can read more here: leisure=slipway (the OSM wiki is a great resource!)

Make sure you reach out if you need any help!

Hi Oliver,
Please do not use the name tag to describe things. building=house is sufficient, you don't need to also type house into the name tag.
You can also square features in the ID editor by right clicking them and then selecting "square".

Hi Jonathan,
Welcome to OSM!
I noticed that you used leisure=park tagging on some features in the existing park area such as the monument and the pavilion - there are other tags we can use to describe these features.
I often map using the OSM wiki: osm.wiki this is a great resource if you're not sure how to tag something :)

Hi Oliver,
Welcome to OSM!
I've moved the park you created over the school (named "basketball) to where the basket ball courts are located in the available imagery. I also changed it to a pitch (rather than a park) in the tagging.

Please keep in mind that the name= tag should be used for actual names of things (such as if the courts were named after someone, "The Wright Brothers Memorial Court" for example) rather than descriptions.

Hi Sanchia,
Welcome to OSM!
Is this area supposed to be a park?way/793070913
I'm guessing you meant to choose pond for it?

Hi Tash,
Welcome to OSM
I haven't checked your edits in the UK, but your changes in Australia are a little weird - you changed the John Oxley Sports Centre from a park into a highway area - was this in error? (way/189964752)
Also, if possible can you try to limit individual changesets to smaller areas unless necessary?

Hi Kenyon,

Do you have more information on The Park of Devin? I can't find any reference to it existing.

Cheers!

Hi Dajah,
Welcome to OSM!
Just a quick note on your usage of the "name" tag - this should be used for actual names of places rather than descriptions. If the basketball court was called the "Albert Einstein Memorial Basketball Court" you would include that name, but not just Basketball Court. The same goes for houses and other similar features.
Thanks for your additions to the map!
