over 2 years ago | Note that I did not transfer the population tag to the existing way as the value was factually incorrect and unsourced.
over 2 years ago | Hi Clinton, It looks like the suburb of Woongarrah is already on the map as a relation: relation/6037084
over 2 years ago | Hi Formattedfool, Welcome to OSM! The correct way to add driveways is as highway=service and service=driveway. You should also connect them to the roads they are linked to (the iD editor you used should have this as a preset you can search for.)
over 2 years ago | Hi KJ1Lord, Welcome to OSM. As OpenStreetMap is an attempt to map the real and verifiable world, we are not able to add features such as parks in private yards. Some of the other features you added seemed a bit dubious as well. I've attempted to clean this up as best I can. Please also note that we should limit the mapping of private residential property to major features and should limit the mapping of private backyards to features such as pools and sheds if they exist - osm.wiki/Limitations_on_mapping_private_information Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions and note that it may be many, many years until any OSM changes make it into Pokemon GO. The last update (which occured last year) took over 3 years.
over 2 years ago | Hi, it looks like the Academy of Art University is now on the map as an amenity 3 times in the same location - once on the building, once as another closed way, and once as a relation. The building is also tagged as a school (which typically implies k-12 equivalent) rather than a university.
almost 3 years ago | I'll have to look next time I'm near here, but it might not even exist at all now.
almost 3 years ago | Hi EmS18, I'm not sure if leisure=park is the best tag for this feature? Maybe something like building=shed (building=shed) might be better, but I'm not sure of the exact context here.
almost 3 years ago | Hi, it looks like you duplicated trails here too.
almost 3 years ago | Hi, it looks like you've drawn the trails here twice in some places.
almost 3 years ago | Hello, I have changed the tagging on Erie County Community College from amenity=school to amenity=college.
almost 3 years ago | Hi! The park you added here is tiny, what is it supposed to represent?
almost 3 years ago | Hiya Akinsegun, Welcome to OSM! We typically work off the idea of "one feature, one OSM element" so in the case of Carragana Park, you can just add the name to the park area rather than creating a new park node with that information. Additionally, the name tag should be used for actual names rather than descriptions. For example, the cannon you added here might be better mapped as historic=cannon rather than leisure=park with the name "cannon"
| 132699834 | almost 3 years ago | Hi davidmk! Welcome back to OSM! Some quick hints:
-OSM normally works on the idea of one feature, one OSM element. This means that if a park is already on the map as an area, it doesn't also need to be added as a node. Cheers for your contributions and happy mapping! |
almost 3 years ago | Hiya csmith1414, When adding paths and roads, generally it's best to only use one (way) line to represent each path unless there is a physical split. Also, sidewalk tagging should only be used for footways that run along roads, otherwise it is not required. In this case you drew a lot of paths over themselves. I have corrected the paths in the park if you wanted to take a look! Cheers!
almost 3 years ago | Also the fishing spot - do you know what hours it is open to the public? Name tags should generally be only used for actual names of things, with other tags being used to add details and describe their features.
almost 3 years ago | Hi Nadia09, Welcome to OSM. You added a park feature inside of another park in this changeset (way/1138334768) is this park named Picnic Park, or is that a description of what people do in this particular part of Parc de Beausejour?
almost 3 years ago | Hi anb225, The name tag should be used for actual names of things rather than descriptions. Features like pools and parks can be described using correct tagging such as leisure=park. Also the park you added doesn't show up on any imagery I checked - it appears to be a parking lot. Is this park new?
| 129453767 | almost 3 years ago | Hiya Warin,
|
almost 3 years ago | Hello, welcome back to OSM! I'm not sure why, but you removed some tagging from Berridale here. Please be more careful with your changes. Also, please be provide more detail in your changeset comments so others know what you are doing.
almost 3 years ago | Also, a lot of the other things you've added here have used the leisure=park tag when they could be more accurated mapped with other tags. Have you checked out the OSM wiki? osm.wiki/Main_Page
