about 3 years ago | Hi Professor John Finklestein, Welcome back to OSM. The park you added here appears to intersect buildings and roads. I'm also unable to find a reference to a Zetrouer Park at all in any resource. Noting that when you were last active you added some parks over houses in a similar fashion, are you able to provide more information about this park? Cheers!
about 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM! Thanks for your contributions so far. Before you get too far into things, you should be aware that leisure=park tagging is not correct for greens or tees on golf courses. The following wiki pages should help:
about 3 years ago | Hi, what are these parks you've added? Orange River is half on a road, and Louise has a very weird name.
about 3 years ago | I have reverted this changeset. Please respond to the original comment by emersonveenstra with more information. If required this park can be restored pending further information.
about 3 years ago | Hi raegan_rosi_wju, You would have gotten quite a few warnings before you uploaded this changeset. This is because you duplicated a section of South Liberty Street. The park you added was also already on the map. I have reverted the changes you made here. If you are trying to do something in particular, please feel free to reach out.
about 3 years ago | Hi! You can square up buildings in iD and the also in the map builder tool by selecting them and pressing "Q" on your keyboard.
about 3 years ago | This doesn't make any sense - there are multiple parking lots that look like they can only be accessed via this road. Suggestion - keep the original service road tagging and set appropriate cycle access tagging in addition to that.
about 3 years ago | This change is obviously incorrect and has been reverted. Porterville Developmental Center is not a park.
about 3 years ago | Hi, I'm not sure leisure=park is the best tag to be used on an area like this. Maybe historic=district instead?
about 3 years ago | Park removed in changeset/127972855
about 3 years ago | Hello, welcome to OSM. In this changeset, you created a park over multiple houses. This is obviously incorrect You also changed all of the residential roads in this general area into living streets. This is likely not the correct usage of this tag. I have reverted this changeset.
about 3 years ago | Thanks for the reply! If the full name is "John James Park" then it should be moved on to the area (along with any other tags that aren't there yet) and the informal name should either be added as an alt_name or loc_name. After that's done, the node duplicating the park should be removed.
| 127894870 | about 3 years ago | leisure=nature_reserve is probably the most basic tagging you can use:
There's also the protected area tags depending on the nature of the location, but they're a little more complex: boundary=protected_area My main suggestion would be to spend a bit of time on the wiki, it's really helpful :) |
about 3 years ago | You created a wildlife park here. This is not correct and the addition has been removed.
about 3 years ago | Hello, You removed the road tagging from Babbitt Road and South Drive in this changeset. I have restored those tags.
| 127894696 | about 3 years ago | Hello,

about 3 years ago | Hi Amy, Welcome to OSM! When adding features like parks, it's generally better to map them up until where they stop rather than connecting them to the middle of roadways and other features like railroads. I adjusted Middleton City Park if you wanted to take a look and see what I mean. Also, what's the difference between Cherokee Landing Campground and the park you added there? They kind of seem to represent the same feature?
about 3 years ago | Hello, Please do not add fictional features to OSM. If you are making edits like this for Pokemon GO, Niantic has likely already pulled the data they intend to use in the recently announced update.
about 3 years ago | Hi beachpunk! Welcome to OSM. Just a quick hint - you can square features in the iD editor (the map editor) by selecting them and pressing "Q" on your keyboard.
about 3 years ago | Hi Jennnnnnny, Welcome to OSM! Please be aware that this is a public map and that you should only add verifiable features. Flagstaff Gardens is already mapped as a park here, personal opinions or individual experiences such as "Beautiful sunlight place" are not something we typically add to the map.
