Hi redredredemption,
Is there a reason why you removed the woods in Joseph Banks Native Plants Reserve? I can understand if you were to replace them with something (i.e. landcover=trees) but a straight up removal feels like it's just losing valid features here.

Hi Sam,

You've named this mapped tennis court "Basketball Courts" - which one is it? Or is it both?

Also, the name tag should generally be reserved from place/feature names rather than descriptions, leisure=pitch and sport=* is the correct place to nominate the sport here.

Hi jch011,

These shapes appear to be somewhat random, and the names don't really make sense.

What source are you using for these features?

Hi redredredemption,

Thanks for your recent additions to the map. I just wanted to check in regarding your line of thought when it came to changing the two ovals from recreation grounds to parks?

It's been some time since I've been to these locations, but from memory, they are both primary sporting focused as opposed to being more general parks?

Studio:

Is the studio something you can hire or that certain select people from the public are allowed to use? If it's not, and is instead something that the current residents of the property are using, it might possibly fall outside of the scope of what we should map on OSM:
osm.wiki/Limitations_on_mapping_private_information

"Do not map the personal behaviour, preferences and habits of individuals"

"Do not map personal private indoor facilities"

Boat Ramp:

leisure=slipway is the correct tag to designate a boat ramp. The name tag/key should only be used for actual names, and other tag combinations can be used to describe features. I will read the slipway tagging in addition to the name you've added.

Hi Paul,

Please don't miss nevw's question here, but you also added a building named "Studio". What kind of studio is it? Is it the location of a business or is it private?

Hi Lucanos,

waterway=dam is typically used to signify dam structures as opposed to actual water (unintuitive in the Australian vernacular, I know). This is why it renders as dark grey on the standard OSM basemap.

waterway=dam

For most farm ponds or similar features, natural=water and water=* (water=pond, water=reservoir, etc) is generally the correct way to tag them.

natural=water

Hi Neokills,

It looks like you've got this park overlapping a lot of houses, are you sure the boundaries you created are accurate?

Hi digital_pro,

I'm not sure that I understand what you added here. It appears to be a park named Cat Farm in a residential front yard?

Are you sure you've got the right tagging and the right location?

That's really awesome! Welcome to the OSM community :)

leisure=pitch is the standard tag used for most athletic fields on OSM. If you hang around here for a bit, you'll notice it starts changing your language. I called a footpath a footway the other day :'D

Hi Yvon Perreault,

Welcome to OSM!

The iD editor has presents for features such as basketball courts and playgrounds, you can find them by typing in those terms ("basketball court", "playground") in the Feature Type text box.

I've fixed these features up for you as you had the basketball court mapped as a residential area, and the playground mapped as a park.

Please feel free to reach out if you need any help!

Hi hanaasidds,

Welcome to OSM!

Thanks so much for your additions to the map.

Just as some minor feedback: The name tag should generally not be used for descriptions.

For example, in the case of a playground, you can use the tag leisure=playground to designate it rather than having to use the name tag as a lable.

I've made some changes in this area that you can check out as an example.

Best,
-Wood

Hi gzephirin,

This feature was already on the map, here: way/51253492

I have removed the newer duplicate.

Cheers,

Hiya!

Is this a little free library sort of feature, similar to those featured on this website: https://littlefreelibrary.org/ ?

If so, the tag amenity=public_bookcase may be a better fit than leisure=park.

Welcome back to OSM.

I note that you have returned to add fictional features in a similar manner to that which you did 4 years ago. These edits are characteristic of Pokemon GO related vandalism (fictional parks and footpaths over areas where they don't exist).

You'll likely find detection methods for these kinds of edits have improved during your absence.

Your fictional edits will be removed.

Hi Hannah,

Welcome to OSM.

I noticed you added your house here. You should avoid adding personal ownership information as OSM is a public map and not a residential directory.

Hi jessicam03586*@!

Welcome to OSM.

Pioneer Park is already on the map here: way/43223844
Are you able to remove the duplicate that was added in this changeset?

You've also added a house. While the house is fine to add, you shouldn't add details such as who lives in a house - would you like to attempt to fix this?

Hi LincDk,
Thanks for your updates. When I last visted Strickland about 12 months ago, there was a sign at the North end of the track you removed stating that visitors are welcome to Narara Eco Village... is this no longer the case?

Hi!
Is "Grant Notley Park and Gazebo" actually called that? Or is the name "Grant Notley Park" and it just happens to have a gazebo in it?

109541214 over 4 years ago

Hmm, I'm not sure regarding the pathways. Personally, I probably still wouldn't add them unless they were clearly visible.

You could walk through a field to access a stream but it doesn't make the whole field a path, if you get what I mean?

If they're on private property, at minimum, I'd definitely set access restrictions, because the way it reads at the moment, they're openly accessible. OSM is used by a lot of hiking apps, so you probably don't want to give people the wrong impression.
