Also you have this marked as no foot access - are you sure that's correct? It looks like it would be accessible.

Hi daryapopova,
Welcome to OSM.
Typically the name tag should be reserved for actual names rather than descriptions. You can describe features using other tags such as leisure=swimming_pool instead of name=pool.

Hi Cole, there already appears to be a park on the map here - way/564503586#map=17/40.85455/-74.81410 is it the same feature? It would be best to put the name on the existing area rather than making a new one for the same thing.

Hi Datnickel5,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Noting that you've added several obviously fictional features since you've joined, I must remind you that OSM is a public map used for many purposes.

Please do not add fake features such as parks over residential and industrial properties.

Feel free to reach out if you need assistance.

Hey Du Jiesheng,

Welcome to OSM!

I noticed that you've made some changes to Utown by turning it into a recreation ground. It seems like there might be a misunderstanding here.

If you made this change because you were facing issues with Pokemon GO spawns being blocked in this area, I want to let you know that the problem has already been sorted out on the OSM side.

The reason why the spawns were blocked in the first place was due to an incorrect change in changeset/128619521, where Utown was mistakenly labeled as a K-12 school. You can check this out in version 10 on this page: way/92357946/history

The spawns haven't been restored because Niantic hasn't updated the map data used to control blocked areas. The recent update only had visual changes and didn't affect blocked areas.

I recommend reaching out to Niantic support and encouraging your community to do the same. We all want to see this issue resolved, and I'm here to assist in any way I can if you have questions.

In the meantime, I've gone ahead and reverted the changeset.

Any particular reason why you did this?

Hi ObjectiveHalf,

I'm not sure what you're trying to add here. The park is intersecting multiple driveways and even the road?

Hi Joel,
I'll message you.

Hello!

Thank you for fixing some of your past mapping changes. It's appreciated.

Note on the footway tag - the existing cycleway is already mapped as being designated for pedestrians.

This is probably more accurate than marking the entire park as a footpath which can result is some weird rendering outcomes and isn't entirely accurate.

This one too. The original mapping as a residential areas was more correct than a recreation ground.

Hi, you changed a huge residential area to a recreation ground in this changeset. I have set it back.

Hi looptyluke,

OSM typically works on the idea of one feature, one OSM element, so it is generally fine to just add a park as an area without also adding multiple un-named park nodes.

Hi MurkyMurlockPirate,

Welcome to OSM! The park feature you added here is already on the map as an area: way/461103841#map=17/36.15170/-115.30422

I'm going to go ahead and remove this addition.

Hi kjohns,

Welcome to OSM!

The park you added as two nodes (dots) on the map is already on OSM as an area - way/446760722

I'm going to go ahead and remove the park nodes you created as they are redundant.

Thanks nevw, apologies this one totally slipped my mind.

Hi Jeff,
Please add the names of features to the actual areas representing them rather than creating a park and adding the name to that instead.

140033642 over 2 years ago

Hello,

There is already a tunnel in the stream mapped here. The tunnel appears to be more correct than a bridge.

Please only use the name tag for actual names. Other features can be mapped using correct tagging such as the following: bridge=*
