Changeset When Comment

The changes you have made mean the relation/9267544 Warrandyte State Park has 2 major errors.
Taroona Reserve and Yarra River Linear Reserve - Koornong both overe lap the State park.

Extra note: The OSM guide is 'one feature one OSM object'. Please do not add the tag natural=wood to parks etc.. trees don't usually stop at man made boundaries. This is usually done by someone mapping for the render!

Some of this is covered with trees.
The legal residential areas can be seen with the DCS Base map.. for the most part.

Both relations for the tree area and residential were incomplete.

Oh.. I'm using OSMInspector to check these routes - 2 bus routes that I added .. and some train routes that I corrected. So that is how I noticed.

110736173 over 4 years ago

I never bothered with iD, went straight to JOSM.
I did a thing on entering public transport routes - see - @Warin61/diary/45106

Hi
Part reversion to restore bus route 686. This was correct before this changset - public transport version 2.

I see no route 695 in this changeset..

Herre you again have removed the outer way in a tree relation/8217637.

Hi,
Why have you made relation/8217634 (trees) have only one member - and that member has the role 'inner'.. This make no sense. The relation should have an outer to define the outside of it .. and then the role 'inner would define an area without trees.
See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=145.20309&lat=-37.71746&zoom=16
Observe the lack of trees now showing on the map.

110859201 over 4 years ago

Oh, the above would have no OSM relation for the building, just simple ways.

110859201 over 4 years ago

The real world is complex.

My simple thinking says;
bridge = over something
tunnel = through something.

So I think tunnel is better? No reason why the 'tunnel' cannot be on layer=2.

The building can be layer=0 'ground level' where ever that is for the building over all.

The building roof can be mapped as building:part=roof, layer 4 so as the tunnel has something over it. Other building:parts can be added for other levels/layers.

Think it through before you make any changes.

110859201 over 4 years ago

Err no.

The relation for the building .. err does not work.
The bridge .. layer=2 .. means it goes over the building? And then you have it as an inner in hte building relation .. clearly the building goes over the road...

Questions
Does the road remain at 'ground level'? If so then the road can be left at level=o, no bridge. The building can be raised over the road as layer=1. No relation is required.

Similar problem here with relation/13168250.

See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=132.28272&lat=-14.46585&zoom=17

Hi,
The relation/13166475 is not correct. See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=133.30064&lat=-14.95398&zoom=17

The simple solution? There is no need to separate out the school from the residential area. So tag the outer way as landuse=residential etc and delete the relation.

Note relation/12114121 is borken, and now being rendered as treeless.

Hi,

The road is broken into pieces so it can be used as the boundary between suburbs. By joining it into one the boundaries don't make sense.
See the DCS Base Map for boundaries - faint lines.

Hi,

Can you correct way/977500980?
See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=151.67070&lat=-30.21722&zoom=17

You may like to keep an eye on that site to see if there are any more errors of a similar nature?

Hi,
this breaks administration boundaries. I'll fix it tomorrow.

110276627 over 4 years ago

Hi,
Suggest you monitor https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=148.41137&lat=-36.79477&zoom=10 for any errors you create.
This tree area is now not closed.. and may eventually not be rendered.

110428641 over 4 years ago

Hi,
Both relations you changed are now not closed areas. Basically you have removed the boundary between these 2 areas.
The source of the entered boundaries is the Government, correct ~1 year ago. What is your source that they are wrong?

In the mean time this changeset has been reverted in order to close the 2 boundaries.
