Too much practice. I have been mucking about them them in NSW for ages, fairly sick of them.
Good Luck.

Hi,
I have remapped the basket ball courts - into 2 separate courts, added the netball courts and the tennis courts.

I have also removed the 1 member relation for Bira Lake Reserve and placed the tags on what was the outer way. This reduces the complexity.

113254464 about 4 years ago

Yes, it is a problem.

See how you have the water? A separate way that does not touch the outer? That is how I'd do the house area.

See osm.wiki/Relation:multipolygon#Multipolygon_created_by_only_one_polygon for an example..

Hi,
Bibra Lake does not need to be a relation.
Bibra Lake Reserve ? Sorry but why is the lake excluded from the reserve???
And why delete the scrub area????

What is the source of the areas mapped as 'Reserves'?

113254464 about 4 years ago

Hi,
There is a problem with relation/13395226 - landuse=meadow.

The outer way touches it self .. see https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=149.07852&lat=-35.06342&zoom=17

It would be better to have the homestead area as a separate way (landuse=residential?) as an inner for the landuse=meadow.

Extra points? The homestead could be mapped building=farm. The DCS NSW Base Map shows its name as Tatibah.

Hi,
Lets looks at the shorter of the 3 relations changed here..
relation/8014084.

Open the relation for editing, and then go to the first gap. Down relief (62 nodes). Right click and zoom to that way. Scroll down to the last way in the next group of ways - they have another break at the end. Select that last way by double clicking on it.. the red way that was selected will vanish and another way will go red .. but it is not on this screen. OK - that means this group of ways is not the group to change.
Scroll down to the last way in the next group of ways - they have another break at the end. Select that last way by double clicking on it.. and there it is on the screen and it follows on from the past 62 nodes.
This is the group that is needed after the 62 nodes .. but in the reverse order.
Changing the order of this group of ways.
Select the group. Click on the bottom of the group. Then 'shift click' on the top of the group. Then reverse the order - buttons on the left side .. at the top are the blue arrows - they will move the group up/down this order - so not those .. then the dust bin to delete the group .. so not that one, then the arrows .. you want the bottom one to change the order.

Shit them up the order - use the blue arrow up button to move the group up ... as you move up the gap will remain up until it all falls in to order.

Ok - good .. that bit is done. But there can be more so check for the next gap.. and there is another ... repeat the above .. but this time only one group needs to be reordered.

Similar things will need to be done for the other relations.

--------------------
You will note that longer relations are slower to do ... Sydney to Perth in particular.

Hi,
Multipolygon relations outer ways cannot share segments.

See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=145.34425&lat=-38.03243&zoom=18

You should fix this.

Hi,
I picked it up on
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=pubtrans_routes&lon=151.16894&lat=-33.45299&zoom=9&overlays=ptv2_routes_,ptv2_routes_valid,ptv2_routes_invalid,ptv2_error_,ptv2_error_ways,ptv2_error_nodes
It takes a day to update.
I keep an eye on it as I got the train (quite a few) and 2 bus routes correct some time ago and like to keep them good.
I'll take a look Saturday if they are not good.

112768666 about 4 years ago

I use JOPSM, never used Id.

When I open the relation I see a list of members - it starts with the stations and then goes on to the ways.
Looking at the "from Sydney" relations they are in order to Hornsby .. then a selection is in the reverse order and then it is correct again. JOSM shows the gap - even a tool to 'jump to next gap' which makes it easy.

When you edit these ways the relation needs to be checked, too easy not too .. I have not done it many times myself.. practice makes perfect as they say.

I take it your not going to fix your errors????

112768666 about 4 years ago

Hi,
Looks like your edits are breaking route relations ...
8014084 Syd to Newcastle
9806975 Berowra to: Richmond
8406942 from: Sydney to: Brisbane
8406939 from: Armidale to: Sydney

Note: These are version 2 relation and need the route to be in sequential order - start to finish. The tracks are still in ht eroute but the section you have altered is in the wrong order.

Hi,

No rolls on ways in relation/13349345, corrected. Also had crossing ways ... corrected using bing that gives more detail detail to tree area.

112201627 about 4 years ago

The changset has:
Comment: Added Great Western Woodlands boundary
imagery used : Bing; OpenStreetMap Carto (Standard)

So, I ask again: What is the source of the geometry?

And the second question: Protected by who? Arr .. here we go .. a website tag would be good to https://www.dpaw.wa.gov.au/management/off-reserve-conservation/the-great-western-woodlands

112201627 about 4 years ago

Hi,
This area is not all trees! So it cannot be tagged natural=wood. I have removed this tag.

Tagged as 'protected area' .. protected by who/what???

What is the source of the geometry? This cannot be satellite imagery as it does not follow a natural tree/shrub/water line.

Why a relation?

112572419 about 4 years ago

Hi
Changeset has broke water relation/10214684

see https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=147.41643&lat=-36.51880&zoom=13

Leave it to you.

112524248 about 4 years ago

Hi,
The relation for the light house is not correct. Outer ways cannot touch one another.
What is wanted is building:part=* See building:part=*

I have changed this.

112526439 about 4 years ago

I believe MapshareVic is NOT suitable for use in OSM.
See https://blog.openstreetmap.org/2017/03/17/use-of-cc-by-data/

I note that MapshareVic also states that some of the data is from other parties that may need to be contacted for their permission to use their data.

In short do not use t MapshareVic data. Unless you have written permission to do you - in which case produce it.

112526439 about 4 years ago

1) it is NOT possible to source this from the imagery stated.
2) the area over laps the Fryers Ridge Nature Conservation Reserve.
3) state forests are not nature conservation reserves - they are landuse=forest.

112406297 about 4 years ago

I am awaiting a response to the copyright issue - I have had one, but not on any changeset and on the subject of deletion of Fryers Ridge State Forest.

112406297 about 4 years ago

Nev - see changeset/112486478#map=12/-37.1502/144.2874
Part reversion of this changeset. Possible full reversion of this and other changesets too.
