Changeset When Comment

NO.
I am going to try and move the admin boundaries to where they are on the DCS Base Map, which is the same as the PSMA data.
I have done it for the northern parts of Sydney and will wait a day or so to see if that causes any issues, fix any issues I see. I did move some of the coast line during that changeset as it conflicted with the admin boundaries - which for the most part are low tide mark. But I am not doing the entire coast.
Once the northern side 'works' then I'll do the southern side. Then Newcastle.

So primarily the Admin boundaries. I'll do coast where I come across an obvious error.

Ok, raised on the Au talk list.. All of NSW is done towards the low water mark .. except for Syd and Newcastle ... so I am going to change them. Give me some time to do this and then we'll all be a little better off.

This and changeset/97624602 reverted to restore boundaries to unbroken state and comply with the DCS Base Map.

Errr...

Boundaries are shown in hte DCS Base Map. They are not visible in imagery.

Short answer: I don't know. Long answer: has been discussed internationally (we not the only ones with this problem), there have been some interesting ideas .. but no forward progress.

Do take a look at the DCS Base Map .. has clifts and possibly hi water mapped..

I am going to raise it on the Aus talk list and see what they say... these boundaries look to me like they are the low water mark so separate from what your editing anyway... I have corrected them where they are generating faults but would like wider feedback.

Hi,
Unfortunately some admin boundaries ate attached to the coastline .. by moving them has broken some of these boundaries. Take care.

Hi,

Welcome to OSM.

The Tumut Bowling club relation... Umm not good. No need to include things inside the outer most boundary.
There are 2 outer most boundaries...
Way: (229951023) and Way: (895522324). Both of these are tagged as buildings.. they are not. Both carry the name .. that name is in the relation and so are the sport tags... this is duplication .. remove the tags from the ways that are duplicates of tags that are already in the relation.

Relations are one of the harder things in OSM.

relation/11894410 ... only one member and tagged as an inner..

You are not so far responding to comments... ???

25 days and still not fixed?

Suggest you use https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=151.78544&lat=-32.92980&zoom=18 to keep an eye out for your mistakes. It is what I do...

Hi,

There are some 'duplicated nodes' here. See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=145.28236&lat=-38.07220&zoom=17. Also some areas (e.g. grass) that overlap over areas (e.g. sand).

Try to edit one area (hole) at a time?
I don't think the fairway includes the green???

I have done some work on one of the holes just east of the 18th hole. I'll leave the rest to you.

Hi,
Regarding the house Way: 894883777 with the drive way. The driveway does not go through a tunnel nor does it have a bridge over it. It has a roof over it - similar to a petrol station.
So I have remove the tunnel and level tagging on the driveway. I have separated the roof from the house and tagged the roof with layer=1.

Opps.. typo.

Boundary relations have 'roles' ... you have not assigned some of these.
Some boundary relations are 'broken' - not forming a closed area.

I have fixed the following 2 relations - Bar Beach and Merewether

Hi,
relations are not required for simple objects. Both deleted and simply tagged on the ways.
Many of these buildings are houses, some garages.

Hi
The name tag should be for the name only .. not a description. In the case of multipolygon relation/12026324 named "Private Residence" but tagged as a garden... ... possibly access=private? and description=Private garden??? Similar comments for the house... adn 'residential garden'..
See osm.wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only

One member relations are not required, use tags on the simple way .. don't make it complex when you don't have too.

e.g Relation: 11863114

HI,
Multipolygon relation/12118792 has shared outer ways. That is against 'the rules' for multipolygons.
As the Multipolygon has no inners .. why make one??? Simply tag the outer ways as farmland and be done?

97197278 almost 5 years ago

Kurraha Ridge (893580450, v1) is NOT a farmyard. Suggest this be changed to map the building with building=farm.

Roads leading to this homestead are NOT tertiary nor do they appear paved. highway=service, service=driveway would be more correct.

Access=private does not need tags of *=private added to it.

Hi,
Welcome to OSM.

The building=* is for the building only, not the building + grounds.

----------------------
You would be better using Ersi imagery here as it has more resolution.

Please edit these building so that they are the building footprint only.

Hi,
Problems with 1 or 2 of these?

See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=145.45605&lat=-30.87017&zoom=6
