Hi,

The OSM 'railway station' encompass not only the building but the platforms and tracks ... and probably the signal box.
See railway=station

Hi,

Would be good if you added the surface to the rest of the road .. surface=paved would do. This is viewable in Ersi Clarity.

Hi,
Welcome to OSM!

The warning you got is because the footpath does not connect to anything. A person can get out of their car and walk along the road, but they cannot get to your path. Normally the path is extended to the road and the end node of the path is joined to the road. This makes computer routers recognize that people can get from the road to the path.

Next - when you mapped the path you went back over a segment - this creates a 'duplication'. And that can cause problems. I have correct this. Please try not to go back over things.

There look to be a number of paths here. Are they 'paved' or 'unpaved'? You can map this using the surface=* tag.

It comes up on OSMInspector. I use it daily to check my own work ...

No response.

Edited as I see fit.

Note: I think the public transport stops are wrong - see public_transport=stop_position - they should be nodes not relations or ways.

Also relation/2455519.

3D... yes .. I've had a go at the Sydney Opera house ... over lapping roof lines are not yet part of OSM 3D. Even milti level 'rooms' are not done well. But it is a start. Unfortunately most of the opera house is off limits to mere mortals so I can only do some of the places.

HI,
Welcome to OSM..
In this changeset the way for an industrial area was changed such that it crosses itself, that is not good.
As your were not attempting to change the industrial are (? from your rather brief changeset comment of 'houses') I have removed the nodes, that are part of the buildings, from the industrial areas way.

Keep mapping and take care.

Hi.
Problem with way/710589362 (roof).

Hi,
This moved node/2722423290 by 176 metres .. destroying the way/266724707 for Old Geelong Gaol.

I have reverted this section of this changeset.

Hi,
This has broken relation/2455511. It may have broken other admin relations too.

Hi
Your added nodes make the way cross itself. Better to move the original node. For one example see..

https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=155.38347&lat=-6.23341&zoom=18&opacity=0.82

I will leave you to fix this one, I have done 3 of yours.

Looking at the history
way/383391758/history

I'd say the way was created when TheSwavu tried to tidy up landuse over 3 years ago... probably created by spiting an existing way and leave this one be hind but without any tags or use. Anyone who then alters a node that the way uses then gets attributed as an editor of that way.

These are safe enough to delete.. but the nodes have to be left behind if they are used by anything else. They contribute to data bloat.

I think you would be better off using JOSM. While it is a more complex editor, it makes more complex things easier.

Fix one thing at a time - relation/9865313 has outer ways that share segments..
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=148.42135&lat=-36.39257&zoom=16

The shared segments can be deleted, but you have to leave the rest of the outer ways.

There are also overlapping areas of heath and rock ...

Might work ?
way/710543215 ? edit - 2 in browser editors .. I'm a JOSM user so both those editors I am not familiar with.

73010366 over 6 years ago

Hi
way/710543215 crosses itself. This needs to be corrected. See https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=148.08965&lat=-8.88289&zoom=18&opacity=0.75

Hi,
The Bismark Sea has been reduced to a single node. See changeset/72897476

72897476 over 6 years ago

I'm looking around.. the Pacific is a single node as is the Atlantic. But the Red Sea is a relation.
I don't know. Possibly the larger seas could have arbitrary lines to show there approximate boundaries without using coasts etc? This would allow easy editing as they are divorced from things people usually edit, can be long ways and can over lap other seas. Having it as a single node means the size is not present ... not even the approximate size. Where does the Pacific extend? Does it include the Coral sea? Don't think a single node is a good solution... but then I don't know what is.
