Access for HGVs, buses, taxies etc etc... Are these all to be stated?
The access=no means no access unless there is a following dedicated tag .. such as in this case foot=yes, bicycle=yes and motor_vehicle=private (to allow NP service vehicles) ...

Hi,

Is this route signposted?
Most of the route looks to be on paved roads with no cycling infrastructure.

Hi,
The tracks in the Blue Mts National Park would allow access to parks maintenance and fire vehicles. So might be better tagged access=no, motorvehicle=private, and some foot=yes, bicycle=yes.

Not been there yet, hopefully Sept this year. I usually check OSM areas that I look to visit so I can improve the map as much as possible before a visit. Then take notes during the visit.
I am trying to get some consistency across the Munda Biddi campsites.
Basicity I think the tourism=campsite should contain the hut, toilets, water, bicycle parking and tent pitches. The sites here would be tagged as pitches .. as per the OSMwiki and what has been done at another Munda Biddi site.
On the visit I hope to detail track surfaces and camp site approach trails as access=private, bicycle=yes. + anything else I think of.
Any thoughts?

Hi,
Are these 2 camp sites part of the Yarri camp site for the Munda Biddi?

Thanks for this, much better than those intersecting areas.

Hi,
Strictly speaking campsites (and other facilities like toilets etc) are not 'alternatives'. Probably best in a new relation .. 'facilities'??

Anyway I'm looking at doing this in Sept, so tidying up the near camp grounds and will probably look at supermarkets and general stores along the way. Probably fill in some of the trail surfaces, generally just paved and unpaved unless an associated way has a more detailed tag and it looks the same.

Regards.

The rules are not only country dependant but, in at least some cases' state dependant. Further there are exceptions smaller area exception - for example a beach may have the local council boundary extend out to sea to manage sand banks.

I think you should contact locall mappers before doing these kind of changes.

Why?
Consider the following?

1) OSm maps the coast line at the high tide level

2) local councils control the land/sea between the high tide to low tide levels (ref Local Government Act 1993)

Reverted.
a) No one lives on Bird Isl. so no one can elect a local government.
b) it is controlled by NPWS..

Pyrmont Bay Park ... an unincorporated area? Just NO! It is controlled by Sydney City Council!!!!

Similarly for other things in this area... they are not "unincorporated areas" in any way...

158192928 about 1 year ago

SIX maps are a no no...

Use the DCS Base Map that should be available in your editor ... possibly under 'imagery' 'map'... Note this does not identify 'unincorporated areas' ...

-------------------
Do these areas you have identified have a local population? If not how are they to 'elect a council'???

The maps avalible (see here https://www.infrastructure.gov.au/territories-regions-cities/local-government/publications/national-reports) do not have the resolution that you have been using ... so what maps are you using - please provide one link to one of the maps.
