Please stop disconnecting driveways from other roads. OSM and routing software depends on routes being joined up.

It is open for bikes and pedestrians, but there is a mostly built road there. Not a lot of imagery available, so I'm expecting a fair bit of reworking anyway.

Hi,

Did you do a GPS trace for the New Ross Bypass? If not, the guesstimates are very good.

There are photos for about 80% of it now.

Hi,

Does the R407 now go via Millennium Link Road?

Hi,

Yes, I fixed this one and about 5 others around the country. I made one of the mistakes myself. :)

I do maintenance of the Logainm tags. Both OSM and Logainm are active projects, that are expanding all the time. OSM has about 50,000 objects tagged with logainm:ref=* and logainm:url=* There are about 120,000 objects on Logainm, although there are about 1% duplicates there. They have at least 20,000 more to document and OSM is adding to that list.

Most name=* tags in this area are in Irish as it is a designated Gaeltacht area https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaeltacht

We try to add name=*, name:en=* and name:ga=* for every location in Ireland. There are some objects with other languages also.

A few years ago there was a large project to map every place name in Ireland that led to https://www.townlands.ie/ I think this used at least some automation. The problem is where two or more locations have the same name. Sometimes dozens of locations share a name.

Hi,

relation/6205189#map=15/52.2095/-10.3223 Just be careful with Logainm. Civil parishes and townlands with the same name have different reference numbers, but are often presented on the same page.

Hi,

There is an odd tag here node/8592826761#map=15/51.9170/-8.6072

railway=mapCork

Should it be railway:abandoned=platform or similar?

Hi,
Apologies, this was 5 years ago and I don't recollect where I got my information. Feel free to edit.

Hi,

Are wee sur this is Old Blarney Road? way/369251965/history - it doesn't go all the way to Blarney. I would have called (before the New Mallow Road) the parallel road to the north the Blarney Road.

Hi,

When splitting up terraced houses / pairs of semi-Ds, be careful to delete duplicated buildings. :)

lol. After I had "fixed it" again, I had hit refresh several times and it wouldn't show properly.

Hi

way/889392926

When mapping a path along the side of a road, it is a special case. Instead of just highway=footway, highway=footway and footway=sidewalk should be used. Otherwise the implication is that it is, for example a pedestrian lane or path across a green space or the like.

You might have a look at highway=footway

Be careful in adding access=no, as it suggests nothing is allowed access it, e.g. there is sinkhole or minefield. While foot=designated creates an except to the access=no, it might create a conflict with some route planners.

Hi,

It's old, but you have access=one way / two way

Should it be one-way northbound?

There's no 'wrong way' to do things, just certain things that make things complicated and ambiguous. One thing is that we are mapping using lines (ways) of objects that have areas.

The piece of footway on the traffic island and the roadway were one on top of the other on Templeogue Road and Templeville Road, so I just moved a single node on each.

If you take a look at this junction osm.org/#map=19/53.32173/-6.26628 each traffic island and flow of traffic is given it's own way, which is probably over-mapping the junction.
